All depends if the sex was consentual. Only Kobe and the woman know that. If Kobe did **** the woman, then, $10 million is a cheap cost of freedom.

It is amazing how many people here worked in the Eagle County DA office and are able to tell us the complete truth about the trial with facts which really haven't come out yet.

I would bet dollars to donuts that it works out like this. There is the possibility that he would be found not guilty, this doesn't work out well for her due to her looking like a gold digger and at the same time she would be forced to give out intimant details about her sex life, something that if she was a **** victim would be very hard to do. Plus if she did go to a civil trial it would hurt her chances significantly.

Secondly for Kobe's camp it is oh so very likely he could be found guilty and go to prison. He has already spent millions on lawyers so why not spend a couple million to guarentee she will not testify.

He gets guarenteed freedom, she gets some money, closed case. What really happened in that hotel room, only two people know.

Actually, the testimony from experts, DNA results, etc. are a matter of public record from the preliminary hearings, and every one of those things looked very bad for the prosecution. Like what the girl told the investigating officer, what the experts say about the DNA and the girl's "injuries," etc.. And that's what was going to be admitted to the trial. Have you read any of the transcripts?

I don't know what unknown facts you think were going to come out in the trial. Short of a confession from Bryant or a videotape surfacing, all the evidence was going to be on one side. Even the girl's own words to the police were going to be used by the defense to support their case.

If Kobe truely didn't **** this woman, he would turn around and sue her. Just like Juwan Howard did when he was accused of ****** a woman in DC. He went on and won the lawsuit.
