If this were true, someone involved would have been traded for scraps before the deadline, and I seriously doubt Begin was that kind of badass.

Bégin demanded to be traded. Probably sick and tired about the whole circus...

WOAH it makes me think, WTF happened with this team, at the beginning year the team was feeling soooo close with those win celebration orchestrated by Price and Gorges

This public practice in front of everyone where Gorges would go Goalie and Price would go D

Price trying to fight BGL

wow.......wtf happened honnestly it seems so far away

Demers & the other CKAC guys said today that the Kost Brothers and Kovalev were not on the same wavelength anymore. Kovalev was probably trying to convince them to stay away from bad influences (the Montreal Mob ? The Russian Mob ? ).
Actually, Réjean Tremblay (who I do not care for, at all, btw) said something to that effect this week, that Kovalev had tried to help the K. brothers in some way.

In the end, I can't believe that Gainey is oblivious to that so I guess that one way or the other, something is going to happen at the end of this year.

I'd find it entertaining if this was some other team, like the leafs. Im tired of this circus crap this season has turned out to be.

It is Karma, I mean last year by all means was THE PERFECT year. Everything was great for us, everything went our way, no injuries, little stories and if there were any it would be shoved under the carpet in less than two weeks..

Now.. this season is a complete opposite..

he would have deflected the attention for sure.

I would have been curious to see how long it would have taken for him to offend the francophones by some stupid comments. real fast I'm sure.

It's not unheard of at all. In fact Gainey did the exact same thing with one of the veterans in Dallas the season they won the cup (I'm pretty sure it was either Pat Verbeek or John McLean). Florida just did the same with Nick Boynton. The Red Wings recently did the same with Chris Osgood.

Anyways, this thread is garbage based on speculation from some guy on a forum. It's only going to result in gossip and more rumour-mongering. We should wait until there's an actual valid source of information to support a claim before we start discussing it.

If it was the case, Gainey would have traded Kovy at the deadline, no?

Ahh, ok ... I stand corrected. It's still a radical move in banishing away from the team your (arguably) most talented player at a time when points are hard to come by when the margin of "in or out of the playoffs" could come down to a single point.

Totally agree on the second part, this thread will hopefully disappear into the night.
