Whether there is 10 seconds left or 10 minutes left in the game, Geno Malkin is still gonna play the game hard. Gimme a break guys..
It is a rough game. But the only thing Malkin could hit was Simmonds head. The dude wasn't in position to hit him shoulder to shoulder but he hits the only thing he can come in contact with which was his head. The league is trying to rid the game of these headshots.

[Note that Simmonds' head is a full foot and change lower than where it should be.]

Certainly not the cleanest hit, but not all that bad. Definitely not as bad as his slew foot on Mara in the final seconds of Game 4 last year.

I don't know if he was trying to elbow him but Malkin IS a dirty player, I'll be the first one to admit that.

So the NHL should suspend him because it wasn't the best time for a hit?

Thread opener: "Evgeni Malkin is a ****ing *****."

Translation: "I'm scared mommy. Make him stop!"

Wimp factor on high on an HF Friday night.

Predictably.

He hit the guy with the puck.

Excuse that filthy swine Malkin for playing to the buzzer.

Good lord...

Hahaha, are you just using stock phrases? Malkin was on the ice in the middle of it until a teammate literally pulled him toward the tunnel.

Also, with 14 seconds to the game, what on God's green earth was Simmonds charging headlong into the play for? Malkin had him beat to the puck and Simmonds comes flying in with his head down. Malkin's body doesn't even move.

not saying its suspension worthy, but its still a ***** move.
up 4-1 10 seconds left and a player is coming if for a stick check you dish the puck and cold shoulder im to the head. completely unnecessary

You play hard until you hear the buzzer. When your on the ice you play the same way no matter what the score is or how much time is left.

I predict that this thread has already paid way more attention to this than the league will.

It doesn't matter. The point is there is 14 seconds left. The game is out of reach and he hits the guy in his head. That was the only part of Simmonds body that he could come in contact with. It was unnecessary.
