i think tampa will definitely retaliate next game. from what i have heard tocchet reamed them for not doing anything about it. i don't think the players originally cared enough, but after their coach called them out for it i think they will try to start something with ovie or someone on the caps.
i don't know if they have that many tough guys though. kocci, malone, arty (who is big as hell but is friends with ovie, so that will be interesting), ???
Tocchet was so mad he forgot to tell them to do something about it during the 1st or 2nd intermissions? So now they'll retaliate in another game? That would be pretty damn lame.
Someone put a mic in his face and reminded him to be angry.
I don't think Tampa has the team chemistry necessary to even want to exact revenge. I remember a rather spineless Capitals team from earlier this decade who I would've said the same thing about.

That's my take too. To try an exact revenge now would be all about keeping up appearances because certain members of the media are surprised they didn't do something about it on the ice that night.
OV is the best thing to happen to hockey in a while. I'm def. getting his jersey t-shirt. That celly was fine, and anyone who doesn't appreciate what he's trying to do is archaic: have a good time and be SUCCESSFUL.
You know I am a big fan of OV and know his intent was to have fun but I am concerned about his thoughtlessness.
Not only to the opposing goaltender and the Tampa fans, but mostly to his old teamates that are on the Lightening team like Eminger, Halpern, and Pettinger who he burned.
I know many of you are going to flame me but I had to bring that up because no one really talked about that aspect of his celebration.
I used to play hockey and we had teamates that come and go, they end up on other teams. You always maintain those close ties, even though you may play them like any other player.
I know they don't matter to us as fans anymore because they are no longer Caps, but from a players perspective I think it was kind of thoughtless.
Thoughts from those of who played sports and would you do that to old teammates if you were OV?

If I was an old teammate of OV, I would know that OV is not doing it to taunt me or make fun of my team, therefor I would not make a big deal about.......It would be the players I never played with that I would be concerned about..
Kypreos is mad he got run out of town after the Limo incident.
Ovechkin has scored more goals this season than Kypreos did in his whole career. He's probably just jealous since he never had many opportunities to celebrate scoring. I know McGuire is going to run with this on NBC this week also. I'm just looking forward to more milestone goals and see what AO does next.

From Halpern's quote about doing something to exact revenge, I would beg to differ.
