Good timing.

Drafting 13th sounds perfect. Let's do it!

Who should be on our radar as far as the 10-16 spots? Knowing how we are, we'll draft another small forward, but is there anyone with Luke Adam's size that could be taken in the early teen spots?

If Jordan Schroeder is still on the board I wouldn't pass on him because of his size.

You wouldn't.

But Darcy would.

At our current pace we could be looking at the 6-8 range. We've been stuck on 76 points for so long, Toronto, Ottawa, and 4 western conference teams may easily overtake us.

So what's the strategy? Rush Miller back and make a futile effort only to finish 9th or 10th and out of the playoffs or rest him, make sure it heals properly, audition some of the youngsters and take our chances in the draft lottery that we come out with Tavares or a top 5 pick?

It's kind of hard to say where they'll end up right now...if they stay around 13th then I'd hope for Morin, Kadri, Bubnick as centers, or Drew Shore as a RW.

If they can move up to the 7/8/9th slots then you can see some really highend offensive talent in Evander Kane, Brayden Schenn, Jordan Schroeder, Magnus Svensson-Paajarvi.

I don't want them to go after Panik, or Ferraro.

Another wild card is with Cowan as his knee injury might cause him to fall and he would be an interesting pickup even though I personally feel that high end offensive talent is a higher priority than defensemen.

It's too bad we wasted a second rounder on Moore...having another pick would have been nice.

fixed.

When I look at guys we're capable of bringing up from Portland I can readily see where we have NHL ready talent for call ups for the d-corps and goaltending for the next few years. The forward ranks seem awfully thin (literally and figuratively). Find a kid that can pot 25-30 goals a year who can grow into a frame that will support 210-215 lbs. I'm tired of 5'9" 160, or 6'1" 175.

We are 6 points away from having a 6.2% chance of getting either Hedman or Tavares.

A little further than that. A team can only move up 4 spots max, so they'd have to finish in the #5 draft spot for a shot to move up to #1 overall. Currently, #5 is Phoenix with 67 points. Even if the Sabres lost every game remaining, I'm not sure they could slip that far.

I think he was meaning getting the Hedman / Tavares leftovers in the 2nd slot...though I'd be tempted with Duchense at that spot.

I wouldn't be *that* surprised to see Evander Kane drop to 11 or 12.

It's just brutal. How many times can history repeat itself before this god**** team gets a ******* clue?

I personally think Kane is going to go top 6ish...his body of work with his outrageous point totals have the scouts salivating...its pretty much a toss-up between Schenn and Kane. MSP and Schroeder will be picked after the Candian duo.

Schroeder wouldn't surprise me, but MSP as well? What's your reasoning for MSP falling?

I won't necessarily say that MSP is going to fall...I just think he's going to get picked after Schenn and Kane.

The way I see if happening is:

1. Tavares
2. Hedman
3. Duchense
4. Kane
5. Cowan
6. Schenn
7. Kadri
8. MSP
9. Glennie
10. Schroeder
11. Larsson
12. Josefson
13. Holland
14. Ellis
15. Shore
16. Morin
17. Despre
18. Kasian
19. Ferraro
20. Werek

I have to plead ignorance on most outside the top 10, but that is one of the more interesting lists I've seen.
