Struggling Rangers enacted Torts law

Quote:
It all gets blown out of proportion as far as that Im some sort of lunatic thats constantly screaming at players and kicking them, Tortorella said in Madison Square Garden. No, I care about the players. But Im going to coach them. I am going to coach them. Some players dont like to be coached, but Im going to coach them.
Quote:
I have a philosophy of how a team should play, and whether they accept me or what, Im going to put that philosophy to them, Tortorella said. Its up to them to accept it.

Well have conversations along the way. Im not here for a popularity contest. Im here to develop a team concept that I believe in, looking at the people you have within your club, and try to find the right recipe to win hockey games. If some guys dont accept it, I really dont give a damn. Its about coaching and helping the New York Ranger organization win hockey games
.
Quote:
"Sometimes we may create a little bit of a conflict as you go through a long season, but I think thats healthy, Tortorella said. I really do. I think if you go through conflict and you work through it like menas long as its under the umbrella of team conceptI think you become tighter, individually with a coach and player, and as a coach to a team.

"Lazy" is thrown around far too often. Zherdev has enormous offensive ability, to the point that when he's on, everything looks incredibly easy for him. By the same token, when he's not on his game, he looks invisible. He needs to assert himself more, but I'm not seeing anything lazy about his play.

We haven't had a coach in here with this type of mentality since Keenan. Biggest diffrence between the two is that Torts does have a lighter side & will put an arm around the layer to help build him up after he rips into him.

I don't think he is lazy, I think he trys to hard to make a play & that results in him standing still & looking around. Watching last nights game Ottawa teed up on him, he must have been put on his ass 4 or 5 times, he kept on going though.
