I told you guys, watch out for the Big Red Scarlet Knights.

8-3 and a Bowl bid.

Doesn't mean much, State friggin' blows. No Smoker, no Rodgers. I wouldn't be surprised if they finish worse than Northwestern this year. Although, seeing most of the Big Ten beat up on MAC teams doesn't mean much either.

As someone who parks at the stadium's west lot 5 days of of the week, I can assure you that this buzz will not last. But hey, it's nice to see the Big Scarlet not do the Big Choke on TV. And check out that scoreboard.

I still think 6-5 and no bowl.

EDIT: There aren't 13 games in the season, my bad. I'm an engineering student, not an adder. Ugh.

Big East, and they still are.

They have the best team they've had in decades and they're still a .500 team at best. Even in that crapfest of a conference.

This day has been coming for a while. They have gone down to the wire with many quality teams, and always seem to come up short in the end.

I also think Rutgers goes bowling this year.

The key is that they now have depth, so they can subsitute freely keeping everybody till the end of the game. That's why like you said they had always seem to come up short. Good depth too.

Keep an eye on Rutgers FB Brian Leonard, he looks very much like a young Mike Alstott.

Depth is key, but I think Schiano's greatest problem was the general team mentality. Most "turnaround" efforts in college football start with that one big upset. Rutgers has been flirting with getting that elusive win for the past couple of years.

Now I now MSU is not ranked or anything, but it sets a tone for the season. Instead of keeping it close for the 1st half, they finished the job. Hopefully the 4th quarter meltdowns that Rutgers has been famous for the past couple of years will be a thing of the past.

I couldn't agree more.

Not only that but before I ran into a friend who is the assistant football coach at my old HS who went to the RU-MS game today with 40 of his players. He told me that there were at least 25 other schools there doing the same thing, and to win a game like that in front of them all, that's even bigger. New Jersey has always had top recruiting classes, hopefully Rutgers can continue to cash on that.
