So is it the consensus that Harding will be a starter somewhere next season?

If McCollum doesn't play any better than he did for Team USA at the WJC, he'll never be "ready."

Larsson, I like a lot... Howard is OK as well... but McCollum doesn't impress me one bit.

McColum is currently the 2nd best goaltender in the OHL, on the basis of 54 games (2.11 GAA, .927 SV%), yet you chose to base your opinion on a couple of tournament games where the entire US was inconsistent? Good call.

Howard will be at best a 1B at the NHL level, while Larsson could just as easily be the next Backstrom. I like Larsson best too, but that has everything to do with the age he has on McCollum. And McCollum's stellar OHL performance so far is a more reliable and valid sample than his WJC performance.

Either a starter, or a splitter.

The Wild do not need a puck-moving defenseman, with Bergeron, Zidlicky, Johnsson, and Schultz all likely returning.

Did you mean Burns - because I don't think that anyone would consider Schultz to be a "puck moving d-man".

I would say he's ready to be a starter.
