post game thoughts

1. all the credit goes to a great entire team effort

2. even more credit to bonk-smithson-tootoo who matched up against Thornton all night

3. For a team of over sized world class skaters, the Sharks sure do hit the deck pretty easily, a real head scratcher

4. Shelley didnt go with Tootoo but later really mouthed off at little Pihlstrom against the boards, that was funny. Staubitz was invisible, I had him circled as one to watch tonight.

5. The Sharks first PP goal looked really easy, they hardly broke a sweat on that one.

6. They didnt grind us down in our own end all night which really suprised me.

7. We got lucky to catch them with a good scratch list and on the last half of a back to backer.

8. A good combination of luck, speed, and team work got the win tonight, lets see it again Saturday!

Two points against one of the league's best teams. Hopefully we can win an 'easy' one against LA.

I think Staubitz's hands were sore from beating Tootoo's face in, which was why we didn't see any fireworks.

Wooo-hooo

Great game, great crowd. Very loud, much like a playoff game. We may not have the most fans, but we have the coolest, best fans.

This game could have been 5-2 or even 7-2 Nashville if we hit the net instead of the posts.

Two games in a row that Sully missed on great chances. But that was a sweet pass to Erat. And Weber had a great pass to Bonk. Zanon, wow what a shot.

We outplayed them most of the game. Just a great hardwork effort. More determined, wanted it more.

Suter was great. There was a play in the third period when he had 2 sharks on him behind Pekka and he protected the puck, got it around both and got it cleared.

I'm sorry, but SJ's 2 PPG's were on BS calls. I called the first penalty. Marleau got pushed down, then cried to the officials at the whistle. The officials huddled up and talked for about 30 seconds and I said that we would get a call within a minute and sure enough, right on the faceoff, Nichol gets called. Then Tootoo's penalty, the ref saw Tootoo going to hit the Shark and to avoid being part of the hit himself, he turned his body facing the blueline and raised his arm before Tootoo even hit the guy.

That being said, PK needs to kill those off. Sharks moved the puck too easily in the zone.

This game reminded me of a few seasons ago when we had a depleated lineup (Vokoun out and a bunch of other regulars - I think the flu was going around then) and Colorado came in here with Sakic, Forsberg, and really a whole world beater lineup and we beat them with a more determined teamwork effort.

The replay is on at 2am and 11am on FSN.

Just, wow.. I thought we outplayed them the whole game, well they were coming in off a back 2 back and I didn't realize how many Sharks were injured... but I don't care a win is a win, we gutted it out and got help from the Coyotes This is going to come down to the last day I bet. 5 teams are at the most 2 points apart with the same amount of games left lol
