Otters coach Robbie Ftorek used four defensemen Hostetter, Chris Breen, Brett Cook and Brian Shaw following Shields' departure. Mitch Gaulton didn't have any shifts

Belleville
Brampton
Ottawa
Miss
Barrie
Niagara
Peterborough
Sudbury

Belleville leads Sudbury 3-2
Ottawa-Niagara tied at 2
Miss leads Barrie 3-1

If Belleville wins their series, they face the lowest remaining seed and Mississaugua beats Barrie,Belleville will face either Niagara or Miss with Brampton facing either Ottawa or Miss.

Belleville has struggled with the #8 seed.

Windsor
London
Saginaw
Plymouth
Sarnia
Guelph
Erie
Owen Sound

Windsor and Saginaw swept.London leads 3-1.Plymouth leads 3-1.If London and Plymouth win,Windsor/Plymouth and London/Saginaw in round 2.

That's funny.. According to the Ontario website, Mitch Gaulton was the first star. They obviously must have it wrong if he didn't even play a shift.

Yeah I was confused by that too. On the Otters website there is a game summary and it lists Del Zotto as the #1 star:

According to http://www.ontariohockeyleague.com/ here are the three stars game-by-game:

Game 1 (3/20):
1. LDN - 90 Philip McRae
2. LDN - 92 Daniel Erlich
3. LDN - 61 John Tavares

Game2 (3/21):
1. LDN - 91 Nazem Kadri
2. LDN - 6 Scott Aarssen
3. LDN - 92 Daniel Erlich

Game 3 (3/25):
1. ER - 32 Jaroslav Janus
2. ER - 22 Zack Torquato
3. ER - 9 Ryan O'Reilly

Game 4 (3/26):
1. ER - 4 Mitch Gaulton
2. ER - 14 Greg McKegg
3. LDN - 71 Phil Varone

Given that Gaulton and MDZ wear the same number and given that MDZ had a goal and an assist while Gaulton apparently didn't play... I'm guessing it's a booboo by the official scorekeeper.

Sad, I'd like to see some progress out of Mitch (althoug if it has to be someone else, at least it's another Rangers' prospect in MDZ). This is going to be a big offseason for Mitch - he's got to rehab that injury and come into camp ready to dominate.

Wow so Mitch was benched for 50 minutes? So he probably only had 1 or 2 shifts all game....guess hes not coming along that great if his coach won't even play him.

Small Ranger rumor here...and i'm not a big rumor guy, and don't like to spread stuff around. But...I just found out that the Rangers are very interested in NY Native James Marcou who is playing for UMASS. Small guy, but putting up very good numbers thus far. From what I was told, very likely he will be at NY Rangers camp in the up and coming season.

Ftorek is one of those coaches with a knack for embarrassing his players. What might help Mitch more than anything else would be playing for another team.
