$45 will buy you 25 loonies....my wife thinks that is a bad investment
My silver dollar with the gold trimming in a plastic case + the acrylic stand arrived yesterday. It's really pretty...and pretty expensive at $75 bucks + shipping a pop but they are only producing a limited number so I'm expecting this thing to go up in value over time.

Let's see, at last report, 25% of Canadian's favorite sports team was reported to be CH...which means that there are approx. 6,000,000 Canadians (not including the Americans and other fans around the world) who will want one...and they are producing only 15,000. I can only see it's value go up!!! And imagine if CH wins the Cup!?!?! Well...it can happen...fairy tales do have a habit of coming true in the world of sports!

But I really got it because it looked pretty with the CH emblem and all...but got one of those looks from the wife when she saw how much money I spent...so I had to explain that, it'll be a family heirloom...and she bought it.

Why it's silver?

Mine is gold, like the regular dollar.

It's a special edition silver dollar that I got, not the CH loonie that are in circulation. Here's a link for it. Nice huh?

They are nice, but they at least could've gotten a better picture of Rocket Richard for the back. He looks really old in that one.

I thought I was losing it for a second and had to go back and look at the coin again.

For some reason, it took the Canadian Mint over a week to ship (they sent emails of their status) it but once shipped, Canada Post delivered it on the 2nd day...so about 9 days total...delivery time is technically correct as stated on the website but misleading since the site says 2 days for shipping.

Thanks David, I was starting to get worried. I'll have to go and check my e-mails to see if they sent any status reports.
