Legwand Injured at Practice - Out Indefinitely

Quote:
Center David Legwand had to leave Wednesday’s practice after he took a deflected puck to the face. Legwand went down in a heap, then got up quickly and skated off with a glove over his face.

He wasn’t cut by the puck, but it hit him with enough velocity that Legwand was getting checked by doctors to see if there were any broken bones.
Update to come after results of x-ray are known later today...

Predators center David Legwand is doubtful for Thursday’s game against San Jose after taking a puck to the side of his face during practice on Wednesday.

The team plans to reevaluate his status on Thursday, after some of the considerable swelling goes down from the area.

That’s the only word we have from the team at this point, so it’s unclear whether Legwand is dealing with a broken bone or not.

No word on recalls yet...

Cal O'Reilly was scratched from tonight's game in Milwaukee...suspect he has been recalled, but no official announcement yet.

My main complaint about our top line as of late has been that they have no size or net presence. Therefore, I'm taking this opportunity to shuffle lines...

Sullivan - Fiddler - Erat
Dumont - O'Reilly - Ward
Hornqvist - Bonk - Tootoo
Pihlstrom - Nichol - Smithson

I'd honestly love to hear that Jones is ready to play tomorrow, but not betting on it...

Fiddler as our top line center and I'm sure Sharks fans will still complain about Cheechoo playing on their top line...

We'd gladly trade you Cheechoo in the offseason for one of your many D prospects

Here's to a good 3pt game tmrw. Sorry to hear about Legwand. I'm rooting for the Preds to take the 8th spot. Hate the Ducks..

I'll be honest, watching the Sharks-Hawks tonight that Cheechoo looked about as effective as Fiddler offensively. Do have to give each credit though, Fiddler can play defense and Cheechoo goes to the scoring areas and creates a fair number of scoring chances.

If Bonk is feeling 75ish or better I would much rather see him centering one of the top two lines that Fids.

I wonder what is more likely:

1. us losing by less than 3 tonight
0r
2. us spending less than 45 minutes of the game in our own zone.

a perfect Pekka and blueline goals will have to give us a chance tonight.

Couldnt Legwand just use a full cage?

No point if there is so much swelling that he cannot see... (as they said that they had trouble seeing what/where the injury was due to excessive swelling)

Somebody find out who fired the puck. Then we can all meet at the rink for a huge dog-pile.

Get well soon Legwand.

You don't think Radulov came back and was practicing with them, do you?

It was a deflected puck that struck Leggy in the face. Could've even been Legwand that deflected the puck. Don't know who shot or deflected the puck, but I really don't think it is of consequence at this point.

My guess is it was Fiddler with a backhander

Any chance Arnott returns to save the day this weekend? Or is he going to be day to day until game 82? Talk about when your team really needs a C.
