My FF draft (and my trade)

Flew back for my draft on Saturday. Picking 4th in a 12 team TD heavy league.

QB:
Marc Bulger
Jake Plummer

RB:
Ahman Green (hold that thought)
Brian Westbrook
Travis Henry

WR/TE:
Joey Galloway
Rod Gardner
Keyshawn Johnson
Marcus Pollard

K:
David Akers
Todd Peterson

D:
Patriots
Jaguars

So the draft ends and I'm immediately approached by the guy who picked 8th wanting to know if Ahman Green was available and that he'd be willing to part with his 1st rd pick Randy Moss. We've got to trade position for position, so he says only if I also gave him Keyshawn and he gave me Marshall Faulk (his 2nd rd pick). Where do I sign!!?

So I end with the following:

QB:
Marc Bulger
Jake Plummer

RB:
Marshall Faulk
Brian Westbrook
Travis Henry

WR/TE:
Randy Moss
Joey Galloway
Rod Gardner
Marcus Pollard

K:
David Akers
Todd Peterson

D:
Patriots
Jaguars

So basically I ended up with a 1st rounder in Moss and 3 2nd rounders in Faulk, Westbrook, and Henry.

I like it G-Man

I wouldn't have waited either G.....Good deal......Here's how my draft ended,I picked 3rd in a 14 team league:Qb-B.Leftwich,R.Grossman
Rb-C.Portis,T.Henry,M.Faulk
Wr-A.Johnson,A.Lelie,D.Givens,D.Bennett,K.Johnson
Te-J.Shockey,E.Johnson
K-D.Akers,J.Nedney
DE-New England,Detroit

I took Portis at 3,grabbed Henry at 26 followed by Faulk at 31......I'm not thrilled with my QB position and my WR's are pretty young but I hope that my team will be competitive and I think that it will be.....Another interesting note, last year I drafted Shockey in round 4,this year,I got him in round 8...........

You have to worry about about Faulk's injury status and now that they have Stephen Jackson carries could go down for Marshal and with Willis now in Buffalo you have to worry about the carries there. But Coach Malarkey said that Buffalo is going to run the ball more than pass so maybe that cancells out the bad part about Henry. But anyway's great trade. You should look for a QB. Bulger has no O-Line, Turley and Pace are both gone. Turley out for the year and Pace is being a holdout.

Well, there is of course some risk in bringing on Faulk in lieu of Ahman Green ... but you ignore the "other" part to that trade .... I GET RANDY MOSS! And that made the risk very, very acceptable.

As for the QB's, I'm solid there. Both Plummer and Bulger are reasonably expected to generate 25 TD's or so. More than adequate.

Holy crap! Do rushing TD's count as NEGATIVE points or something? Thats the kind of backfield you'd expect in an 8 team league for crying out loud!

If Moss gets 20 TDs this year I wouldn't be surprised.

My draft was Sunday, 1st pick in a 14 team keeper league.

QB
Brooks
Brunell
Rivers

RB
Tomlinson
Dunn
Wheatley
Moe Williams

WR
Owens
Mason
Rod Smith
McCardell

TE
Gonzalez
L.J. Smith

PK
Nedney

Def
Miami
Detroit

I know my RB depth is brutal, but no real good ones were left for my second pick at 28th overall. With LT2 on my roster I only really need a tier III side kick anyway. I was hoping Bennett would slide to the fourth round but he didn't, so I decided to get top end starters with Owens and Gonzalez. Picked up Mason and Brooks on the next go-round to put together what I think is a very solid starting lineup. If McCardell works out for me I might be able to package him and one of my backs for a legitimate #2 RB and I should be in line for a great season. Overall I'm happy, definitely a top 4 or 5 in my league, which is very competitive.
