1) Because pens fans will want more. What they don't understand is a team > Malkin, or Crosby, or Ovechkin, or Gretzky, or Lemieux, or whoever.
Nobody is going to trade 10 ****in' players, or like 6, or 7 and picks for one ****in' player.
If they do, they should be fired and never, ever, ever hired again.
The most valuable player in the Montreal package is a UFA who's been playing poorly of late, the 2nd most valuable one has 67 points less than Malkin, and the rest is a grab bag of current borderline top 6ers apart from the draft picks, which would assuredly be late 1sts because Malkin would make the Habs an elite team.
Trading Malkin's a non-starter, but some threads make it that much easier.
