Leafs actually helped us by winning against Philadelphia and they may do it again tonight

Philly has the worst schedule in the NHL. The amount of back to back games they have to play at the end of the season is ridiculous. Even if they do come out with a good playoff opponent, they are going to be mighty exhausted.

It's great to have goals. And if he prefers ruining our season than getting a better pick for his team, well that's his problem. More they're winning, the less chance of getting a great player they have and I have no problem with that. At least by winning they are building momentum.....for next year. As if it means anything...

Not to spoil things but realistically how could missing the playoffs make this season any worse than it has been already???

You know what, next year I hope the leafs have a good enough team to make it into the first round against us and I hope we beat them silly.

I would rather see the Toronto Maple Leafs not make the playoffs for the rest of my life. I would rather see my grandchildren mock children who were grandfathered into being Leaf fans after over 100+ years of failure than see the Leafs ever ice an East leading team ever again.

Wow, Ron Wilson wants to have a hand in ruining our season. So he should and the habs would feel the same way if the roles were reversed. Some of you are far to sensitive.

no playoffs
no good pick
... and they still have Pogge.
...... and Grabovski

I don't know what any Leafs fans could brag about.

So true. I would expect nothing less from a division rival that was on the outside looking in. Just win.

Very surprising that the head coach of our farm team has threated to ruin our season, maybe it's time to bring back Don Lever.

I think that McGuire and the TSN guys were extrapolating on Wilson's comments about his team having the chance to play spoiler in the last few games. I highly doubt that Wilson would flat out say "let's ruin the Canadiens' season", or anything that direct publicly.

I expect nothing less from a team that drops out of the playoffs than to want to play spoiler against the teams that are competing for the playoffs. Wilson's got a young team with quite a few guys who are playing for jobs in the NHL next season. People also can't ignore the fact that Burke will have his first Summer as the GM in Toronto, so if any players like playing in that city, they will need to impress him to stay there. Finishing the season strongly would benefit the confidence of a lot of the younger players there. Even though picking one or two slots higher might give some nice options at the draft, it's not worth sacrificing the confidence of the young players that they already have in the stable.

Playoffs or not, Wilson's job is to win games. If he can get a little more out of his players by hyping up the rivalry a bit, then I think he's doing his job well.
