Biron didn't have a chance on the first 3. Flyers fix that and he only let's in two. It wasn't pretty but I'll take it.

Not sure if anyone else noticed this, but did Mike Richards have his nose worked on? It looks straighter... did they rebreak it?

Nah...doubt they'd do that in season. I Think it would have to be packed for a while?

MSE, how does this sound?

The Capital Grille. Lobster bisque to start. Followed by a Porcini rubbed Delmonico with aged 12 year Balsamic. Baked potato. Grilled asparagus.

And a bottle or two of BelnerO.

Call Marv.

While you were at the game the other night, I had Marv bytching in my ears about all things. Wasn't fun for me, but he seems to be better after wins. We're there, as soon as the next GDT is finished.

That isn't just any vinegar. It's more like syrup.

I've never had aged balsamic on steak but I have had it on a burger, and it is addictively good.

Post-game quotes:

http://blogs.courierpostonline.com/f...game-quotes-2/

Quote:

Q: Will Marty (Martin Brion) play tomorrow?

“I haven’t told the goalies so I am not going to announce it yet.”

Q: Was your first period response a response to the General Manager and what he had to say yesterday?

“I’m not sure what you’re referring to. I think that was misinterpreted a few ways. Obviously, Homer (Paul Holmgren) said we need to play better and he pointed to the veterans. We, the staff, the players, we are all aware of the situation. Sometimes you take a step backwards. We just told the guys to go play. It almost seems like when there is doubt, it takes a lot of energy from your team. We do have a young team and a lot of those guys care deeply. They take that responsibility on their shoulders. I think sometimes that takes up energy when the fact of the matter is we are a good team. We play confident and we can play well. I just think it was a wake up call for all of us yesterday. I thought our guys came out and played with the confidence they are capable of. [They] did a lot of good things and hopefully that is a step in the right direction.”

I'd still like to know what the point of playing Cote is. Seriously, 1:17 of ice time? Plus it's not like he'll be playing in the playoffs, so why not try to get a decent 4th line going for the last few games?

Who knows.

Of course, I also wish Stevens had come out and ripped them...they never should have let the Leafs get back into that game.

I was wondering about that as well until I remembered they had Brad May.

Then again, we will probably still play Cote up until the playoffs, you know, because it makes no sense and all.

Win is a win is a win.
I'm not thinking about the goals that they let up.
I believe, this win will really get this ball rolling.
I hope their knees feel better then mine. Since I ****ed my one up tonight.

All I know was, I was getting updates via texts. Every time I got a text it was Goal we got another aand goal. It was awesome!

Give me Giroux and Birere on the same line all day, every day. That is all.

It was quite awesome, they look for each other constantly. That pass for Dannys goal

Giroux needs to shoot more imo, and I would like a pure shooter with them (Lupul,Gags)

From what I can tell (unofficial), this is at least the fifth time the Flyers had a 5-0 first period:
  • 9-0 vs. Vancouver, March 22, 1973
  • 10-0 vs. Kansas City, December 1, 1974
  • 9-3 vs. Vancouver, March 26, 1977
  • 10-1 vs. Winnipeg, March 5, 1981
  • 8-5 vs. Toronto, April 3, 2009

The Flyers had at least two 6-0 periods:
  • 10-0 vs. Kansas City, November 2, 1975 (2nd period)
  • 9-4 vs. Washington, December 15, 1983 (2nd period)

The Flyers have had at least two 7-0 periods:
  • 13-4 vs. Pittsburgh, March 22, 1984 (3rd period)
  • 11-6 at Detroit, February 23, 1988 (3rd period)

The Flyers had an 8-1 2nd period March 31, 1973 vs. the Islanders (10-2 win). Islanders scored in the last minute.
