in that order, but I voted for Markov because I'm a homer
Same thing, however I would put Green over Lidstrom. Also voted for Markov because I'm a huge homer and this guy doesn't get the love he deserves.

Sigh...look at all the league leaders in giveaways, they all have one thing in common. They're all top players on their team who ALWAYS handle the puck.

Ovechkin -103
Markov - 102
Roy - 92
M.Green - 91
M.Richards - 87
Kovalchuk - 81
Malkin - 81
Thornton - 81

Out of those 102 giveaway, I can probably count on my 2 hands the amount of those that ended up costing the Habs a goal against. Also, the interpretation of a giveaway is so subjective...this stat, much like the +/-, has to be taken into full context.

For example...Mike Komisarek (77) and Sean O'Donnell (77) are #9 and #10 respectively in terms of giveways. NOw I don't watch many Kings games, but for Komisarek, that number is UNACCEPTABLE. Because he barely handles the puck...to have that high number of giveways is alarming.

It's not the same for Markov...he's asked to do so much with the puck that it's not surprising his giveways are so high. Curiously enough, he's 3rd amongst defensman in takeaways as well.

i bet markov is second amongst montreal defenders in fast food takeaways, behind komisarek

try borscht sometime, it's a vegatable beetroot soup from larger russia, very underrated, as a matter of fact 3rd on my list on pre game suppers behind pasta with cheese and pancakes ...

There are many different ways to make it, in my family the vegetables to meat (beef, chicken, pork) ratios are close to 50/50….so it’s very meaty…

...and its Green for Norris IMO

Now that's what I call a tight poll... 47 to 50 to 50

I would like to see Timonen but I put Green, 30 goals for a defense man is great, lots of forwards don't even have 20.

this is clearly Green's year. He might never win it again, but he deserves it....

I will predict this now, if Lidstrom manages to score 60+ points, the Norris will go to him again.

30 goals in 63 games. Ungodly.

If he doesn't go -10 over the last 2 weeks, Green's in.

I'm a bit biased so I'm obviously going to say Chara. However, I really don't think Green should win it. Yes, he is great offensively, but he's basically just another top 4 d-man when it comes to defense. If you win the Norris, you should be top 1 as both offensive and defensive d-man on your team. Chara has I think 17 goals which is a lot for a d-man and really is arguably the best defensive d-man in the game this season.
