What an awful trade for Chicago. Good job Denver.

Enjoy Jeff George II, Bears. And for pete's sake, don't criticize or boo the kid.

Happy Opening Day, everybody!

It's the hap-hap-happiest time of the year. Go Reds.

Same to you, it's my favorite day of the year.

But, Go Tribe.

Meh. I suppose I'll root for the Tribe as far as the American League goes, if for no other reason than to spite Pittsburghers.

I caught a couple of games at the Jake (or whatever it's called now) last summer. Nice park. I'm hoping to check out PNC Park next month when the Reds come to town. I'm told it's gorgeous.

It's cold, wet, and nasty. But baseball is back. GO REDS!

I'm happy to say that I am usually looking forward to Opening Day. But this year, not so much. There is meaningful hockey in April. Baseball has taken a backseat.

Go Redlegs!

The nice thing about MLB's ridiculous schedule is that we can be excited for Opening Day today, then focus solely on hockey for the next two months, and then come back to baseball without really having missed much.

You could wait until September and not miss a thing. Or you could do like me and ignore it altogether.

That said, I don't begrudge baseball fans anything, I'm just not a fan of the sport.

Admittedly, this is true.

This is how I've been with NASCAR this year. I've seen every race, but thanks to our impending mid-to-late April hockey, I'll still have to juggle the two sports around for a while. And as I said in my mini-rant in the GDT, I'm quite liking not shifting my total focus to NASCAR at the start of April & glad it's that way for once.

I love that movie, really, although in truth it's not really a baseball film.

That said, because James Earl Jones said something in a movie I should believe it or it should change my mind?

And don't make me break down my issues with what he says point by point. It's so much malarky.

I'm glad the Indians started off in Texas this year. I'm going to the home opener on Friday but the forecast says 40 degrees and rain, hope that changes.

Tribe fan in the AL for me, long-time Pirates fan in the NL. Went to PNC 2 summers ago-the nicest park in MLB, just edging out the Giants stadium (whatever its name is). Great views of the city, lots of good beer and food to choose from, and the area around the stadium is similar to the Arena district. The on-field product, unfortunately, does not match up to the surroundings.

Thanks for the input. I'm really looking forward to going. And as a Reds fan, I know all too well about a poor on-field product...

Don't forget the MLB Extra Innings free preview on inDemand. As has been the case in past years, they also unlocked the NHL channels (since they share them) and you can get some free hockey out of it, too!

I'm watching it now, and the picture quality sucks, not sure if that's because of the weather or not. But every baseball game is choppy.
