Yup, wishing the perfect guy for the Habs slips a little so I can take him! But from the way the standings are looking, I'll draft rather high so I doubt he'll be.

You do realize that if you pick someone this forum doesn't agree with you'll be forever known as the guy who messed up the Habs picks in the 09 mock draft...

You've been warned.

Are there any other rules you guys would like to see added? Or is it fine the way it is?

Fine. No need for anything else. Can't wait to see the pace of it. Should we ask for a quick description or maybe not even go there? It will be done quicker without a description. Maybe we should say that if people have a little description 'cause they know the guy, have seen him play and it's not too hard and long to do, well do it. If you don't have it or just will take a description that we can already find through internet, no need to.

The idea behind the description is to inform the guys of this board. And the only way it will be new information is that if it's your own personal view of the player, not something we can find on the net.

Yeah, the description isn't mandatory or anything but it'd be nice if everyone can do one. It's more of a gm "quote" than a description though. We've done it the last 2 mock's so I figure most posters should be able to do one.

Alright guys, the lottery is tomorrow so we'll probably start the draft on Wednesday.

I'm going to assume though that there will be a few posters MIA?

If any posters no longer wish to be in the mock draft, please let us know now so we can find a replacement.

I don't know how long you plan to have people "on the clock" but I think 10-12 hours is probably appropriate as most people work 8 hour shifts and thus should have some free time within that 10-12 hours to draft, and I think there's a good number of us who have the internets at work...either way we'll probably get a good number of picks in tomorrow night provided every one shows up. I'm excited I have a feeling the Islanders won't win the lottery...which is too bad, I kind of hope they do. Having a marketable guy like Tavares would help keep the franchise in NY.

I almost hope Dallas doesn't win the lottery, top 5 picks give me headaches.

lottery tonight

The draft will officially start tomorrow at 12pm EST but if you guys want to start early you can. But the 10 hour limit will begin at noon tomorrow.

Like we agreed on, all teams will have 3 picks in the draft and for playoff teams we'll just use regular season standings.

Do we have any backups in the case that some posters are MIA?

I might not be as available as I thought. In the process of changing jobs as we speak so I'll keep you posted as to how available I am. I'll be availalble for my picks though, don't worry.

No problem at all.

I have a feeling that quite a few posters will be completely missing though when their pick comes up lol. Oh well, it happens every year and there are more important things in life than a mock draft.

Blasphemy. Mock Drafts > Work/Girlfriends
What is the process is a poster doesn't make it "on the clock"? Do we do a consensus pick or does someone pick for them or do we just go to the next person and the person who missed their picks just drops a slot like in the NFL draft?

It's up to you guys, but I figure that we'll all just agree on a pick. Or someone else can come in and just make the pick if the time ran out.

Might not be a bad idea to do it NFL style where a team can "pass" on a pick. For example let's say the person who is drafting for the Number 1 Team doesn't make his pick within the 10 hours. The Number 2 team then gets to pick. Then Number 1 is on the clock again.

If it's too confusing(maybe I didnt explain it well) we can just do a consensus pick.

It's up to you guys. Or, we could have it where if a person misses their pick they get moved to the end of the round.

They are taking Tavares FO SHOOOO...their rep could barely hide it...or rather he wasn't able to. So Hedman to TBay...how does that affect all those rumours about Vinny, given every one said that if you can replace him with a Crosby-esque center wrt hype, Tampa would consider trading Vinny. Doens't seem that way anymore. then again...lawton.

Would be neat for posters to take Tavares and Hedman so we can get this out of the way.....

The draft will probably get going tomorrow afternoon. We officially start at noon. I'd like for us to get atleast the top 10 picks tomorrow but we'll see.
