Great thread... love resource/reference threads like these...

depending on how anal the OP is... maybe if you say where the prospect came from?
or maybe color code it?
i.e NCAA undrafted FA - red, undrafted Junior - purple, drafted junior - blue, European FA - orange... etc

I think Bob McKenzie has said that Vancouver and Toronto are the frontrunners right now.

Dallas signs Luke Gazdic, LW, to a 3-year, entry level deal. Gazdic was Dallas' 6th round pick (#172) in the 2007 entry draft.

Oh man, I'm nowhere near that organized or skilled to pull something like that off, but what I will do is start posting every time I add a player, a link and a sentence or so to say where they're from, like above.

So far, I can't find any evidence that he signed with Phoenix, everyone else is reporting it as an ATO with San Antonio. Let me know if you find a link, and I'll be happy to add it.

This...John Curry is likely to be the Penguins back-up next season and is as far from proven as possible. The Penguins will be in need of a back-up and the position is open for sure...a good camp may even land him the job (though I expect management would prefer him to play more than 10-15 games in his first pro season).

I'm certainly not going to complain. I just hope this doesn't mean we're going to let Chad Johnson walk...he did a ridiculous job up in Fairbanks this season.

Wow... Bob McKenzie says two prominent Canadian franchises are the front-runners for a highly-sought-after free agent... who'd have thought it?

I guess Rocky Wirtz wants to make the IceHogs into the AHL's version of the Charlestown Chiefs. That's all Aliu is good for, is to be a minor-league goon.

It turns out I hadn't jumped the gun.

The Pittsburgh Penguins signed a second player from Northeastern Friday, inking center Joe Vitale to a one-year contract.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

A seventh-round pick in 2005, Vitale will join Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League for the remainder of the season.

Bob is an extremely reputable analyst. He doesn't say things for the sake of saying them. Bobby Mac is one of the best in the business my friend.

McKenzie is not pro Leaf or pro Canuck or pro Canada.

Added

Francis Pare, C, who played the past season with Grand Rapids of the AHL, to Detroit

Marco Scandella, D, who played this season with Val D'Or of the QMJHL, to Minnesota

Holding off on Oberg until he actually signs the contract. In the link above, it says he's expected to in the next two days or so.
