He hasn't scored since February so his offense right now is limited and seems he can only play with Lang and his brother, other than that he seems to be a floater and a liability out there and Gainey is doing something right by sitting him and having players play that want to win and play a good complete game.

No need to go all sarcastic on me. Andrei's year was good until the Mangiola scandal, after which he stopped scoring entirely and disappeared. I know Kostitsyn's potential and still believe he can reach it but he really needs to put it all together and play with emotion. Same with his little brother. I'm disappointed by them because I know they are good players, much better than their stats indicate. I expected Andrei to at least match his goal totals of last year, which he was well on his way to do at some point (he was on pace for over 30 goals by mid season) but obviously something happened.

Are you happy with Gainey having to bench the two brothers during the most crucial games of the year? Its their fault entirely and don't tell me Bob hates them, because in his first few game as a coach he :

A. made Andrei play close to 18 minutes a game (Carbo would play him 10 to 15 mins)

B. had Sergei play a few games were he was average but did not come out as the feisty forward he was last year.

I think this is a strategy of Gainey. I hope he unexpectedly makes them both play one night (tonight would be the right time) and hope they kick ass. As someone said earlier, this could be akin to the Julien and Kessel situation in Boston. Ever since Kessel got benched in the playoffs he is a new player. There is nothing I'd like more than to see Andrei play at his full potential. He can be the most exciting player on that team at times. Yes, more than Kovalev.

The line-up I'm looking to see;

Tanguay - Koivu - Kovalev
Higgins - Plekanec - D'Agostini
Latendresse - Lapierre - Kostitsyn
Stewart - Metropolit - Kostopoulos

Gorges - Komisarek
Hamrlik - Brisebois
Janik - Dandenault

Price
Halak

* Laraque was useless last night.. if not downright horrible.
* D'Agostini gets a chance to step it up after a long layoff. Lets see if this kid has what it is takes in crunch time.
* Kostitsyn in the line-up by default as O'Byrne was so bad that Dandenault has to play defense.
* Give the start to Halak if Price isn't 100%.

I can't wait till we get a coach who knows what he's doing more than half the time. Carbs never knew, Gainey kinda knows...

Gainey, you want experience ? Dandenault has more experience on d than O'bryne and probably Janik. Move Dandy there. Play Akost.

Has Bob said anything about AK? A healthy scratch for a game is one thing, but it's starting to feel a bit like he's been disappeared.

Wtf is wrong with those CKAC and RDS "experts" that keep saying that an OT/SO win wouldn't be enough for Habs to clinch? I jsu can't believe none of their journalist realized that and they are the official broadcasters of the Habs.

They must be dumb; with an OT win; The Habs would be a 94 points with the Rags at 90.

* The Rangers can get a maximum of 2 wins (42), which the Habs will have before the last 2 games.
* The second tie-breaker is, of course, the season series. Right now it's 2-1 Montreal (5 points - 2 points). So no matter what happens, we own the season series record over the Rangers.

JC Lajoie thinks 99% is higher than 9.9 / 10 LOL.

Edit: they finally realized that.

Maybe he made the trip to be with the team or just to see a doctor in New York and everyone thinks he made the trip to play,I doubt if they said his season is over they would be lying

This is a story I got from the Habs Inside/out website from a poster. Take it with a grain of salt:

"En audio, Martin McGuire explique à Michel Langevin, à l'émission « Sport du lit » qu'il « n'est pas exclu » que Schneider joue contre les Rangers, sinon qu'il « pourrait » jouer contre les Bruins.

Mathieu Schneider will meet a doctor in New York today or in Boston later this week to get a second medical opinion. If the defenseman's shoulder injury requires surgery, his season is done. However, he could be back in action if the American specialist judges that returning to play does not risk worsening the situation. As for Andrei Markov, he was seen around the team's locker room and was walking with ease, without limping. He seems to be walking normally. It is thus not excluded that Markov's injury is less serious than medias were suggesting on Monday. He has however stayed in Montreal and the length of his recovery remains indefinite.

It would be nice to hear if this was the case and Markov was back for the last game of the season.

As for the game tonight, the Habs will pull out a grinding 3-2 victory. First goal is essential and timely saves will be needed.

On a positive note Habs can't be lower than 8th after tonight's games.

They could even clinch with an OT loss if FLA loses in regulation ..
Anyone can confirm this ?

Not true. Last year he worked well with Pleks and Kovy. The year before, he, Pleks and Higgins carried the team down the stretch. This year, he has performed well when on a line with Lang and Sergei, with Koivu and D'Agostini, with Plekanec and Pacioretty and got at least one point in the one game he played (around mid-season) with Lapierre and, I think, Laraque.

And while he isn't playing his best, he still plays more physically than people give him credit for. This year, he is currently 4th on the team in hits among forwards (with more hits per game than Lappy who has slightly more overall) and 6th on the team outright. He's already outhit Hamrlik by a significant margin in less games. He may not be playing a complete game of late, but he isn't completely sitting around waiting for the puck to bounce off him and into the net. Yet he rarely gets even a nod of recognition for this side of his game this year.
