haha, funny stuff. my friends and i used to do it while waiting tables and bartending. you were always most vulnerable while you were taking an order.

About 15 years ago, some jerks on the bike path in Santa Monica were zipping between people on their BMX bikes and one got a little too close to the girl I was roller blading with. He got away, but the next guy was the unlucky one. Right as he was about to pass me I flipped backwards, crossed over once toward him and "ooops, Hipcheck."

I ended up with a good bruise on my hip (kinda forgot that my hockey pants have a good hip pad, but my skating shorts didn't) He ended up with a serious case of roadrash on the whole right side up his body. I dont think he ever knew that I did it intentionally, but then again, when you're on a bicycle cutting that close to people on skates its bound to happen. HIPCHECK!

Just think, a few inches here or there on the check, plus one good punch, and Ballard could have taken out two of the three best players in the league in a matter of seconds.

Instant retaliation is what happened and should always happen from a "LEADER". I'm so tired of excuses from our brass and players about why they didn't respond. They may have a good ol' time in the locker room but it doesn't translate to the ice. Nobody has each other's back and Crosby sticking up for his teammate will not be forgotten by the rest of his team. Ass kicking or no ass kicking........he did it!
I agree 1000%. There's a captain on our team?

The only thing I can really say regarding the Crosby non-instigator call is that Ballard clearly drops his gloves first. Great hit by Ballard though.

Well, before we get all up in Brown's face - was Dustin on the ice for either the Doughty hit or the Simmonds hit this year? If not, was he supposed to jump out there and start fighting? I can't even imagine the League's punishment for that.

Don't get me wrong - punishment should have been immediately given out when Doughty and Simmonds were hit, I'm just wondering if Brown was in a postition to do it.

Brown was at center ice, fifteen feet away from where Simmonds was hit, and he just STARED at the play. Didn't even react at all after Simmonds took it to the head. Embarrassing.

How many people would have thought that Crosby had more grit in leadership than Brown before this season? How many people think it now?

Meh. I'm giving Brown a break. He really should have been given time off and told to go be with his family. He's been clearly distracted out there.
