Better lineup. In theory, will provide more offense.

As for the various permutations for the Habs making the playoffs, I say just win and let the pieces fall where they may for the other teams.

EDIT: Since the rangers have not played since a loss on Saturday, we need to weather the storm in the first ten minutes.

Yup. Confirmed by NHL.COM:

No. 7 Montreal Canadiens can clinch an Eastern Conference playoff berth:

* If they beat the New York Rangers.

OR

* If they get one point against the New York Rangers and the Florida Panthers get no points against the Philadelphia Flyers.

c'mon guys let's win this bad boy. In an ideal world we would win and so would Florida, but I'm not going to be rooting for Florida unless a victory for us becomes clear.

That's what I was telling all the negative guys here yesterday...We need 1 single point in the 6 possible points remaining AND Florida to lose in reg just 1 out 3 remaining games to clinch.

Not making the playoff would be a major collapse...

Big two points tonight! GO HABS GO!
RDS is the one that broke the news, I think it was Luc Gelinas.

But I have no idea how they got such news seeing as no one on the Habs org confirmed it.
I don't see any reason why they wouldn't admit Schneider is out for the season...Unless they didn't know.

Anyways, if we learned something this year is that the Media can be much worse than we ever thought.

I'm not sure if scratching both Laraque and Stewart is a good idea , especially if the Rags go all out (and they will me thinks considering that it may be the most important game for them this year) and have a gameplan based on physicality and aggression with Avery and Orr crash and banging all night long. I'm not saying that both should be dressed but having at least one of them in the lineup would have been an insurance policy.

Andrei better make sure he gives 110% every single shift or he could be on his way out this summer!

I agree. Stewart could have taken care of Avery (Laraque is too much of an heavyweight for that unfortunately, altho I would LOVE to see him destroy Sean)

We're sitting guys now! Wideman and Ference sit tonight, so that's #2 and #4 dman. Plus we seem to be starting Manny now to rest Tim. So it would be interesting!

Kosto can take care of Avery. I'm just worried that Lapierre will do something stupid.

If the Habs back into the playoffs, as I suspect will now happen, and finish eighth you'll find that much more interesting. The d-corp they iced last night cannot compete with any of the other playoff teams. It won't be pretty.

Is Dandenault playing on D ?

If so, Laraque should be in the line up.
