Haha, I agree, the announcers were pretty brutal last night.

To be fair it was kind of unpredictable. Our key aquisitions (Tanguay, Lang, Schneider) this year have produced a lot but have been injured (Lang out for the year (!) and Schneider maybe). Young veterans that were supposed to carry the team all collapsed at the same time. Off ice scandals Gainey couldn't have prevented also irrupted, providing distractions. Other key players have or are falling to injury (Price, who's game took a long time to return to normal. Koivu, Komisarek and now Markov, our best player)

Even contending teams can miss the playoffs with that kind of bad luck. How would Detroit fare if Datsyuk, Zetterberg each lost 20-30 games to injury at different time, Franzen, Filpulla and other crapped the bed, Lidstrom got injured coming into the playoffs and Hossa and say Rafalski going out with season ending injuries? All of this with Osgood struggling (don't know if he can struggle more than he actually is in fact )

Ooohh, very impressive, maybe they should have gave an honest effort when the games played were still meaningful. Get back to your ****hole and enjoy your talented team playoffs run.

What sort of cup winning pace are you on, oh great calculator?

Oh, so the chokers win the games don't matter? Hardly surprising.

What I see unfolding:

Loss tomorrow @ NYR.

Panthers go 2-1.

Rangers win one against the Flyers.

We lose both against Boston and Pittsburgh.

Which means will be done.

Not very supportive especially coming from a MOD.......

He's only being realistic. There are only so many injuries a hockey team can support. We just lost two of the best point-men in the league at the same time. All of our remaining games are against playoff teams, 2 of 3 on the road.

Not having Markov alone changes this teams chemistry entirely. He plays for most of the game. Not having him there to support the offense is a devastating blow because the forwards have to change their game a little to compensate. The reason Kovalev's line wasn't as successful last night is due to the fact that you don't have the transition game working and Markov feeding them on the PP. Instead of the imagination and shot of Shneider on the point you have Komisarek just trying to keep the puck in the zone. That's about all he can hope to do at the point on the PP.

It's like this team was cursed all year.

I'm throwing my 100th anniversary coin in the St-Lawrence as soon as I get my boat out.

I can't even count the number of times I've been realistic and have been bashed for it. Hell it's not even me, our hole forum is filled with realistic stuff that people hate on because they think that being a fan means being blind. I'm pretty sure he's still cheering for the team even with this negativity, but I'm also sure this thread wouldn't have existed if it was posted by someone else.
