Hey, does anyone know what organization the commercial with the fat kid dragging the scale was for? I really want to find it, it was hilarious...

Alberts looked really good tonight when they started mixing the pairings. Maybe he was too worried about covering for idiot jones all the time to be that physical. He did a couple really nice spinarounds to avoid people too. He must of been in heaven being out there with kimmo or coburn. While jones said his hip is bad, his hip doesn't make his mind make stupid choices.

Carolina is absolutely on fire. I want no part of them.

I'll take Montreal or the Rangers.

Unfortunately, the choices are Carolina, Pittsburgh or New Jersey.

I think your assessment of him is spot on though. The player who came here, and the one who is leaving are not the same.

And none of which I'm all that confident about our chances. Jersey is probably the best option only because their ship isn't righted.

Who we play matters very little. How we play is the entire story.

If we play our best, we beat anyone other than San Jose or Detroit. We play like crap, we aren't beating anyone.

exactly, and ONCE just once I would like the team to be healthy this post season.
Its unreal the amount of devestating injuries this team seems to get in the playoffs.
2003/04, last season ect.

I want a part of them. The break between the regular season and playoffs has a way of cooling teams down (Washington was SO SO SO HOT to end last year's regular season, we won 3 of first 4 in the series). While they do have experienced cup winners in Brindy and Staal, they also have a defense with the names "Pitkanen," "Corvo," and "Seidenberg" on it. I want to see how those 3 react to a packed, bright orange, bloodthirsty Wachovia Center with Richards and Hartnell coming at them hard.

The break is 2 days. Maybe 3. It's not like it's a week or something.

How the Flyers play matters the most, but who the Flyers matters more than you suggest. Had the Flyers played the Pens in Round 1 last year (which was a strong possibility), they probably would have lost. Instead, they played the Caps and eventually made the Eastern Conference Final.

Every team is going to have injury problems. The only way you see a completely healthy Flyers team is if they lose out early, before the grind of the playoffs takes its toll.

We were also hot, winning 7 of 9 with 2 shutouts to end the season. We will not be the same this year.

I just don't buy the whole "hot" thing. The playoffs are different. The regular season is nice, Atlanta's been playing well lately too, and if we play as lazy as we have we obviously won't win...but I don't think we will.

9 straight is extremely impressive, but save from last night's blowout against a non-team, they had 6 one goal wins, a 2 goal win and a 3 goal win (with an EN goal). They're not completely outclassing everything in their path, they're winning games. 2 against an awful Islanders team, 2 against a floundering Devils team, 1 against Ottawa. Again, I'm impressed by their recent consistency, but I'm not convinced that streak continues when the stakes are high FOR BOTH TEAMS and neither of them suck.

My hopes:
1. New Jersey --> kill them when they suck..
2. Pittsburg --> see 1.
3. Carolina --> maybe they suck in a couple of weeks...

Who says a team can't suck in the playoffs?

If you're firing on all cylinders going in, you're chances are greatly enhanced. It's been proven time and time again.

A team can't suck in the playoffs as badly as the Islanders do. Our team from Game 2 of the '06 series against Buffalo would beat them easily.

I was there last night, and have to admit both our goals were horribly fluky. But they went in and we won. Jones looked worse as the night went on, it was again noticeable. And when Parent went out, he got more time, which was even scarier.

Jones actually made a few nice plays in the last 8-10 minutes of the game, but he was awful for the most part.

Kinda. Alberts had one hell of a play with the dive to block the 2 on 1 and then 5 seconds later destroying Peltonen.

Bingo.

The Flyers playing their best can and have run with San Jose.
