Here's to having a very spirited affair with some high stakes. Should be an overly physical game with a lot to play for.

So If The Rangers win tonight or if the Panthers lose tonight (In regulation) Rangers clinch playoff spot?

Good... though Panthers playing Atlanta so I wont hold my breath.

Korpi will stay on the 3rd line tonight thankfully

Quote:
On rookie Korpikoski with Dubinsky and Zherdev: "He adds speed," said Torts. "I thought he played very well (in the last game). He adds some forechecking... I think he's going to score a goal here... He did all the little things, getting the puck out... he and Cally kill penalties very well together. Shoe played very well for a time, then dipped. Korpi, he wants to play I can tell with his attitude. He just wanted an opportunity. When you give a player an opportunity, they need to run with it. I think he did a pretty good job of that."

I like Sjo-ey a lot, but I really like Korpo for the offensive potential. Good choice! LGR

Sean Avery needs to get Carcillo and his buddy Briere to take the bait and take some bad penalties.

I was thinking 72 but wasn't sure, so I looked it up. We lost to them in the SCF in 72 and beat them in the 1st round in 73. That was the last time we played them in the playoffs.

Truth. And I've got a feeling he'll do exactly that. I'd really love to see the refs knock off the garbage with not calling things when Avery is on the receiving end. I could understand it if he was pulling stuff like he used to, but lately, he's really not been very problematic. Officiate the game correctly please, especially when a playoff berth is on the line.

So pumped for this one.

Let's just fix the playoff picture with a win tonight.

I hope the Garden is electric.

LET'S GO RANGERS!

Why would the Rangers clinch tonight with a Florida loss? (Assuming we lose too)

Buffalo is four points behind us and have two games left...If they win both and we lose both, we would have 41 wins each...They have beaten us in the season series, so wouldnt they make the playoffs ahread of us?

Great scenario analysis.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the simple thing to keep in mind is this:

From a Rangers perspective, one win = clinch.

From a Panthers perspective, they MUST win both games except in the case where the Rangers lose both in regulation, and they'll still need 3 points then.

Weird scenario: Rangers get 2 OTL points, and Florida win both, they're going to the PO's.

Because Carolina is going to win.

Youre right though.

Made amendments to chart.

And as Shake and Bake pointed out, IF both Florida and the Rangers lose 2 games, Buffalo has a shot, but its a long one and they need all sorts of help.
