Last report I know was probably I think it was 1 week ago or a little more than that when a journalist saw Lang walking but still with a cast. This guy is not close from coming back.

Little inside info:

I had my Engineering banquet a couple of weeks back at the Vogue Hotel. I go to watch the game against the Sabres in the bar, and a couple of guys are sitting next to me. In comes Robert Lang. I wasn't sure at first, but after speaking to one of the guys and asking him, I was reassured lol. Long story short, I asked that guy if Lang is going to come back at all and he VERY QUICKLY responded "not this season!".

Take it FWIW.

And he was still wearing a brace.

I hope it's worth nothing and he comes back for the first game of the 2nd round along with Markov after we sweep Boston.

We just gotta get some good breaks this season.

Probably not gonna happen like that you say?

Well I can dream

From what I've heard the cast has been off since his 8th week of recovery, which is about 1 or 2 weeks ago. A probable return would be the second round if his training goes well and doesn't suffer any setbacks.

So "not even close" is quite an exageration, Mr Gloom and Doom.

There's a good possibility that Lang is done for his career. I highly doubt he's back at all this season.

It was tough watching someone go down like that. I've played hockey my whole life and still do at 40 .... I've never seen anyone get such a nasty cut to a tendon like that on their leg.

Hope he gets well, he is a great player. It would be a tough way to call it a career if it doesn't heal properly.

Kyle Chipchura suffered a similar injury in junior and missed four months. If we see Lang again this season it will probably mean the Habs are in the finals.
