Tortorella Not Happy with Practice

http://njmg.typepad.com/rangersblog/...-practice.html

Quote:
"If you're going to show up to practice, show up for ^*($)#(* practice," Tortorella barked. "We'll all get along ^#@)(* fine."

Later, a much more relaxed Tortorella told the media, simply, "We practiced liked crap, it's not about being on your A game, we didn't practice well. I have no idea (why) and I don't care. It's not going to happen again, though."
Making sure the boys don't get complacent.

I said it before & I'll say it again, can't wait for "Camp Torture-ella" in September.

That'll be entertaining.

We really are lucky, Florida was last in shootouts, that improved area for them couldve made a big difference. But there's many scenarios, right?

It is better to be respected than loved as a coach. If your players learn to respect you, however, the love comes later.

Too bad this team has no leadership on the ice to lead the way and it has to be their "parent" always telling them what to do. What a joke of a team.

The '94 cup team had great leadership, did that stop their "Parent" from kicking them in the ass?

If it's such a joke of a team what are you waisting your time for watching them? I never heard a fan call their team a joke day in and day out. It's annoying and I cant stand people doing it anymore. Support your team or shut your mouth and find discussions elsewhere.

This....I agree, if you're just going to complain about your team then dont even bother watching. What is even worse is that you're complaining when your team is actually going to be playing in the postseason. There are fans of 14 other teams that will not be watching their team participate in playoff hockey. Sure they aren't perfect, but be grateful and support your team.

PS...I'm started of the leadership crap, GIVE......IT.....A.....REST

Kind of glad Tortorella called them out. This team isn't getting passed the first, nevermind the second round if they are playing at anything but 100% every game. I don't expect this team to do that much damage, but I don't want them to be embarrased because they were caught off guard by a team much more prepared.

I guess I'll have to say it again: This team will make the playoffs. (check.) This team will advance to at least the second round.....watch.

Hank will steal us at least one round. Wooha!

Ding Ding Ding! I'd much rather have a hard-ass coach, than a pushover.

Fine lines though, Tortorella. I understand what you are doing but there are fine lines with this sort of stuff.

Most teams have a sloppy practice or two when their regular season fate has been decided.
I'll be concerned when they have a sloppy practice when preparing for a playoff game.

Most teams don't win the cup either. They are paid millions to do this. There's no excuse to not always give 100% in every game, on every shift and every drill.

Now is not the time to grow complacent.

Especially you Redden. If your not going to perform like a 6mill dollar man on the ice, at least do it in practice

Good for Torts. Even though the meaning for Saturday's game has dwindled, you still have to play hard and go into the playoffs strong. Especially the way we've played on the road recently.

Nice canned reply by Redden. I wish he actually took a look at his play sometimes and compared it to his words. Everyone should be hungry as hell at practice. What an opportunity they have, they have to show their enthusiasm outwardly, they have to show it by how they conduct themselves.

Way to go Tortorella, hope you got their attention.
