Yeah, they'll get power play time at the very least.

It's a smart move, and should reduce the likelihood of injury or fatigue come round 1.

Also allows Gainey to get a bit more of a handle on Weber and D'Agostini, and whether or not they can handle bigger minutes.

Well, Schneider is playing. I guess it's pretty obvious that the media blew that story out of proportion.

Thx for the compliment.

I know he is resting Tanguay, it says so in the link I provided.

but the other big guns are in the lineup, just all over the lineup.

If he was going to not play Koivu, Kovalev, much why have them on seperate lines? that makes 2 lines with a big gun that is supposed to get minimal icetime?

I think the lines will change before and during the game tonight.

Im sure that Koivu will get at least 13 minutes, about 3 or 4 minutes less than his average.

I'm sorry you misunderstood, I was calling Bob Gainey a genius

I see how you could've thought otherwise. I just quoted you because you had written up the roster so nicely.

My bad

I would have liked to see Hammer just sit out completely, but im sure he wont get to many minutes. I bet we'll see a lot of weber tonight. Give the kid a chance to play

Good luck to you guys. Hoping you pull it out for 2 reasons:

A) Hate the 'guins.
B) Want NO part of Washington in the playoffs.

So good luck!

Tangs is out, but look where koivu is in the lineup....and Schneider with Weber on the second pair? weird lines bob, i guess your trying things in the final game?
I've seen the rationale and I understand what Bob is doing, but my first impression was that our forward lines were hilariously bad, perhaps even worse than Carbonneau.

Still, I had the same feelings about leaving out Stewart and Laraque for D'Agostini against the Bruins, so I give the benefit of the doubt to my man Bob.

Exactly, we also only have 4 natural centers on our roster right now so we would've had to call one up if Koivu was scratched.

Not really, they just reported what the Doctor in Montreal recommended which was to go ahead with season ending surgery. He then went to New York for a second opinion.

The team will just give him cortisone shots and pain killers as needed and i bet he'll have surgery in the off season.

Good decisions by Gainey, if we lose, i wont be sad, cause beating the Ruins in the 1st round would give us huge momentum

Not at all.
They reported what ''someone inside the locker room'' text messaged to a ''journalist''.
They also came out with this ''report'' claiming it as a fact before getting any type of confirmation.
Even if true, you don't print out an article as if it's a fact before getting the official report.

Also, from what Schneider himself told reporters after the Boston game, our media once again looked completely ridiculous.
He said the injury was never as bad as it was rumored to be, and that he didn't know why people were saying that.
Maybe he was lying, maybe not, for now our media is becoming less and less trustworthy.

LOL, if there was any danger of Schneider making his injury worst, he wouldn't be playing a useless game like tonight. Montreal media...

LoL the music ended just as I finished reading the GDT. Great GDT, possibly the best of the season. Looks like Pitts is icing its full lineup and the Habs are limiting the ice time of their key players.
