Two great series (rivalry/entertainment wise that is) to watch in the east, Mtl/Boston & Pitt/Philly ... I'll predict Boston in 5 and Pitt in 6. If Markov comes back in time for the start, then Boston in 6, if Markov doesn't play in the series then Bruins sweep.

I picked Boston in 6 but I wouldn't be shocked to see an upset.

Nope

I never made any statement like that. All I did was present stats that argue the belief that last years Habs were better then this seasons Bruins.

He's no Orr but he's the difference between a 2-1 loss and 2-1 win...

We need 3 things to hope for a win:

-Markov healthy
-Price on top of his game
-Refs with balls

The problem i see in the series is : the winner will not win the Stanley Cup, the winning team will get half destroyed and exhausted.

The outcome of the series' can be debated but one thing that I do know FOR SURE...

Every series is going to be played tough so anyone that thought that the Bruins/Habs would be way too beat up after their series to continue...

Pens/Flyers
Jersey/Carolina
Caps/Rangers

Those can all go either way. I don't I remember this much parody in the playoffs ever

Gotta go with Boston in 5.

But hey you never know...I just wished we could play another opponent in the first round for a change. Getting old a bit.

Honestly, let's put our bias aside for one freakin second. How the heck would you think that we have a chance? Less physical, 2nd line is better but not great, Komisarek struggles like no other, Price, despite being great, is still in a 1 softie per game mode, Chara is healthy, Markov is not, Thomas has been great all year etc....

I don't see it.
Because we want our team to win. If you won't even give them a chance, root for Boston instead.

Habs in 7... and then out in the next round because they'll be exhausted.

The team needs, needs to win the series in 5 games if they are to go deep in the playoffs. Boston's going to wear them down, and a rest will be needed.

ROFL

So it's a poll in which we can only predict an Habs win ?

What kind of attitude is that ?

I'm realist.. I expect Boston to win because they had a great season while Montreal had a mediocre one.

You never know though...anything can happen.

But if I had to bet I would have to go with Boston.

Parity. A parody is what we'll be making after the series is done in 5

I'm very excited about this series. I have a lot of respect and hate for the habs. I respect the tradition, I hate that they beat us. It's finally time to change the trend. You've never played a Bruins team this balanced. Our 2nd line can outscore your first. Our 4th line can outplay your 3rd. On most teams our 3rd line could be a 2nd. And with Chara-Wideman-Ward-Ference-Hunwick-Montador we have the most balance blueline I've ever seen as a Bruins fan. I wouldn't want to play us right now.

Honestly I would prefer to lose in the first round than to lose yet again in the second round after winning against Boston.

If they do beat Boston I want them to win at least another series.

Enough of those damn 2nd round losses !

The way we play in our end and consistently give up 40 shots a game it will be a Bruin sweep.

Imagine if the situation was reversed and we had Markov healthy and they had Chara out with an injury? There would be some nervous Bruins fan out there...

Sucks we don't have healthy lineup it could be an epic series...

the underdog story no more

bruins are expected to win and probably in 5 or 6

thomas has played very well this season but still unproven when it comes to playoffs..it will be interesting to see how he plays...his whole life he has been the underdog and nobody expected him to do anything...this time around its different...hes in first..up for vezina consideration..got his huge contract..expectations are there..something that was not last year

imo, no markov = no win

with markov = we have a shot but its not like im expecting a win.

i really dont like the way our defense has been playing at all.

Hey, if we beat the Bruins, we should have a healthy Markov for the next series so that could be a + in the long term.

I think the 1st line will be big in the playoffs. The 3rd line as well. The 4th line should be normal, like usual.

That 2nd line, the defense and the goaltending, you might as well toss a coin. That is what will determine if we win or lose IMO.

Welcome to last year! Bergeron out, Savard playing with fractured back, Chara hurt so bad he can't raise his stick past his knees and could only do wrist shots, Kobasew out, Manny out. That's how our whole 2007-2008 playoff run felt!

its very true. 7 games like the one on thursday would take a huge toll on our players...saku is a beast but he takes very short shifts already...chara is going to be glued on kovy and everytime he hits the puck the bruins will just go for the body.

little ms plekachu cant even play 1 good game against a phsyical opponent. i would be surprised if he was at all a factor. when i watch him play...he does try..the effort is there..but he is weak...he needs to hit the gym this summer.
