Fair point, but there is no one on the team that can be the back end puck distributor save Markov. It's not fair to put it on Weber, but I think he has the vision to sub in if necessary.

No Markov, no Weber, no PP.

Tanguay - Koivu - Kovalev
A.Kostitsyn - Plekanec - D'Agostini
Latendresse - Lapierre - Kostopoulos
Higgins - Metropolit - X
Laraque

X = Double shift somebody (ex: Kovalev)
Laraque = Keep him on the bench, play him only when necessary

And play Lapierre on the 2nd PP unit.. no Plekanec.

So no changes at all?

Well, not really. In the last couple of games, I saw a little bit of chemistry between Dago and Andrei. Plekanec might follow...
The 1st line is a no-brainer.
Higgins and Metropolit are always playing well together.
And Lapierre's line is on point.

Stewart could complete the fourth line with Higgy and Metro
or
Laraque could join the party

S. Kostitsyn will play if there's an injury.

Am I the only one who thinks Plek should be scratched for the first game of the season? I mean besides being a good PKer, he will get pushed around horribly in this series.

If we had someone else who could play center then I wouldn't be against scratching him, but Higgins has rarely played center this year so now wouldn't be the best time to put him there.

Tanguay-Koivu-Kovalev
D'Agostini-Plekanec-AKostitsyn
Kostopoulos-Lapierre-Latendresse
Higgins-Metropolit-Laraque/(Stewart)

Gorges-Komisarek
Hamrlik-Weber
Schneider-Dandenault

Price
Halak

If Laraque is useless (since Lucic refuses to fight him, and Laraque refuses to just attack him) replace him with Stewart. When Markov comes back, Weber is removed.

Seriously,

Put HIGGINS on the third line instead of the Kostopoulos. Just try it in the practice and see how well it works. Higgins is a finisher.

I would definately try:

Tanguay- Koivu- Kovy
D'ago/Sergei- Pleks- A.Kost
Lats- Lapierre- Higgins
Kosto- Metro- Laraque

Even though I prefer Stewart over Kosto on the 4th line, Kosto deserves his spot on the team.
That third line looks scary. Alot of energy and each one of them can put the puck in the net. We would have one of the best 3rd line in the league.

i'd swap Stewart for BGL, and that's my lineup.

Gainey signed Laraque because of our loss against a physical team in the playoffs; the flyers. I think Laraque will be playing. He's got NHL experience and I would love to see a Chara- Laraque fight

Tanguay-Koivu-Kovalev
S.Kost/D'Ago-Plekanek-A.Kost
Latendresse-Lapierre-Kostopoulos
Higgins-Metropolit-Laraque

Hamrlik-Gorges
Komisarek-Dandenault
Brisebois-Schneider

Laraque, Komisarek, Kostopoulos and Lapierre will need to disturb players like Savard, Ryder, Bergeron, etc.
