Depth Charts

Since there is no hockey and we're all bored what does everyone see as our organizational depth chart? It would include the Rangers, Pack, and prospects as our team is right now. Anyone care to make one?

If there was to be a season, here's the Rangers DC from my standpoint:

FORWARDS
UFA (preferably McAmmond or Arvedson)-Nylander-Jagr
Dawes (1st and 2nd line LWs are interchangable)-Lundmark-Balej
Murray-Betts-Ortmeyer
Scott-Green-Wiseman

Other possibilities: Dominic Moore, Alexandre Giroux, Dwight Helminen

DEFENSE
Kasparitius-Rachunek
Poti-Tyutin
Pock-Kondratiev/Purinton (depends on the opponent)

Extras: Marshall, Strudwick

Other possibilities: Grenier, Liffiton, Nycholat

I think it's impossible to do the rest without knowing who makes the big club

TRevor Gilles would rank ahead of Scott in my opinion. Much bigger and a legit heavy. With Oliwa and Langdon in Nj Goddard in NY and Phillie with 4-5 guys we need to stop with the Dale is the tuff guy thinking and get a real heavy

Gillies has never played in the NHL, but he is only 25 so he can improve. Now the question is does he have the skill to play on the 4th line. I hope so. But I think he will be with the Wolfpack for the beginning of the year. Maybe a callup if injuries or if he works hard.

I personally would love to see a Dawes-Lundmark-Balej type of line. Sure they will have there growing pains and make mistakes, but it sure would be nice to watch some of the future of the Rangers play and grow together.

A line like that going up against the opposing teams' second pair defensemen every night is just asking for trouble. I don't care about scoring goals, but Dawes, Lundmark, and Balej are all extremely slight forwards to say the least. We're talking high chances of career ending injuries here. If people insist on Lundmark and Balej on the same line, you gotta have somebody either at LW or C with some muscle, even if it has to be a goon.

Easy.

If Holik plays on the 1st or second line you figured Betts to be your checking line center.

If Holik plays center on the checking line you replaced him with Lundmark on the second line.

You forgot to choose which scenario you preferred and therefore you forgot about Holik altogether.

I think the Rangers need to sign another veteran LW. Definitely do NOT trade any youthful prospects or picks for one, just sign a UFA.

Otherwise, the options are few. Lundmark might just have to be the first line LW.

What's the word on Messier? Jan Hlavac? Josh Green? Dan Lacouture?

Isn't Dwight Helminen still in college? Isn't Nigel Dawes a little young to be a realistic option?

Lundmark - Nylander - Jagr
Messier/Green - Holik - Balej
Ortmeyer - Moore - Murray
Wiseman - Betts - ???

Tyutin - Poti
Kasparitis - Pock
Rachuneck - Mironov
Kondratiev

All are still free agents and unsigned by any team

Helminen is signed and will play in Hartford this year. Dawes is also signed but is too young for Hartford, so he will stay in Jrs.

Dawes-Hollweg-Murray?

man, that's not a line I'd pay to see. Two players that have yet to prove themselves outside the WHL and one that's currently nice, but pushing fourth line status. I won't be ready to see that for some time. If you project their scoring ability in juniors to the NHL, that's fine, but it's a lot more difficult than that.

Gillies hardly got time down in Springfield, who had a terrible team last season. I don't think he would beable to crack an NHL lineup. He's really an ECHL player playing in the AHL because of his ability to fight. He's a step behind in other words.

Thanks! Sure leaves a lot of holes to be filled but then again, the Rangers coud have some attractive options after the new CBA has been agreed to.
