What's the most exiting playoff match up?

Appart from Bruins vs Habs, i think the other exciting one is Flyers vs Pittsburgh.

Flyers has an amazing scoring crew.. and Pittsburgh also. It will be sad to see one of them go after the 1st round..

Pens & Flyers. Wings & Jackets, Ducks & Sharks could also be pretty interesting in terms of potential upsets.

Carolina has been pretty much of a surprise during the last half of the season and I hope they can give the Devils a bit of trouble.

The Pensylvania battle comes first; Montreal-Boston second. Still nothing beats the former Montreal-Quebec games we use to have... and most of the posters here are too young to remember.

yes, the Pens Flyers serie will be something to watch..

I think the CLB DET serie will be pretty good too.. Im probably one of the very few who think CLB will win the serie.. Jackets became a pretty tough team to play against and goaltending is what should make the difference..

In fact any series should be pretty fun to watch, its probably the first time I think all series have the potential to go in 6 or 7 in the first round..

Nothing comes to the rivalry Boston-Mtl has.
Pittsburgh and Flyers is the only other good one.

The reason why these are the best match-ups is because their divisional series.

In the West, DET-CLB will face each other for the first time. So, even if they're in the same division, there's no rivalry yet.
Same thing with SJ-ANA.

Absolutely.

Very sad.

Which is exactly why a GM cannot trade away the future for a cup run.

Besides having a great team... to win the cup you need a window of chance in the match-ups, which one of those teams does not have.

The Habs had one in 86 and 93

The thing is the league as so much parody now that you just need to get out of the 1st round in 6 games or less to have a chance to go all the way. If you go 7 in the first round making the cup finals is next to impossible and once you get there Ill bet you lose.

Honestly, no other rivalry even comes close to the matchup between the habs and boston. What makes a great rivalry is not only the history between the two teams, but the current rivalry between the players. In our case, Lucic and Komi. What would have given us a run for our money would have been NJ vs NY, Avery vs Brodeur! Too bad that didnt happen

What's funny is Nordiques were coached by the dude we heard everyday on radio yelling.

Clearly any time it's us vs. bruins, that's the series to watch, but aside from that, Ovie vs. Avery (not necessarily that this will be the key matchup) will be a fun one.

yah Ovechkin vs Brodeur is gonna make an interesting matchup too, but a different one. I know last year I loved watching the highlights of the NJ NY games. First time I saw someone not shake hands with another player, that makes these series just as interesting as top scorer vs top goalie I find.

Montreal/Boston is my personal favorite. But I choose the Sharks vs the Ducks.

Although there is quite a lot of parody in the league (i.e. Gary Bettman impersonating a man of importance, Bruins fans impersonating humans), I believe the word you're looking for is parity.
