Impressive win by Slovakia over Sweden. I see Torok added a couple of helpers.

AK BARS, Finland, and the East Coast Selects remain undefeated.

Quebec, Hungary, and Czech East are all winless after the first day.

Thanks for the information. Any info on Martin Reway of Slovakia? What kind of last name is Reway?

Not really, I only know that he is a MHK Dolny Kubin player and his stats from szlh.
Well, about the name, maybe one of his parents aren´t Slovak, like there´s a player in Hkm Zvolen´s system whose name is Marius Al Muaqet, who has a Slovak mother, so there could be something similar about Reway.

I'm guessing the name Reway is a variation of Révay or Révai. If that is the case, then the name has Hungarian origins.

I was thinking about it first as well, but with the w in it it definitely sounds English.....
Plus if it was a vaiation of that name it would probably be Révaj or Revaj or even Revay, but he w ´there is kinda weird.

Quebec defeats Slovakia 6:4, but the Slovaks playing for Quebec registred 6 points (2+2 for Patrik Koyš), while Tomas Torok had a goal and an assist for the Slovaks. The Slovaks will face Ak Bars later today, who defeated the Hungarians 3:0 while Quebec will play Hungary.

Not sure why, but the site has not been updated. I do know that Hungary finished in last place losing the final game 2-1 to the Czech East Selects. Even though the results are poor, I think it was a good experience for this team as it gave them a taste of what it is like to play at this level. Now I think they have a better idea of where they are with respect to these top teams. I think their development would be better served if they continue by playing teams form Slovenia, Austria, Romania, etc. where at least they are competitive. Losing a lot of games by wide margins will likely only discourage these young players.

As for the Slovaks, this group of players looks promising….

…those on the Slovak team and those that participated with the Quebec team.

It´s a bit late, but I found this article in Zilina´s regional newspaper.
http://zilina.sme.sk/c/4818597/zilin...estratili.html

It says that the team from Slovakia was a selection from Western and Central Slovakia, so I guess that is the reason why they have West written on their jerseys.

Also the Slovak team finished 5th after beating Canada´s West Coast 4:0 in the 5th place game.
