"Grizzled veterans" and "old school sarcasm". Wow, you sure know how to make us feel good. Call us Kings of vaudeville and of silent movies, while you're at it.

That was my next post...

Take it as a compliment Gros Bill, hell pretty soon i'll be a grizzled veteran on these boards if i'm not one already. The good news is that when you've been around that long, your almost part of the furniture and can sneak in a dirty post once in while without too much hoopala.

The typo doesn't change the essence of the message. Go lecture the cave dwelling population on your own board before you show up to sermonize here.

Way to go Bill, that dolt wouldn't have known that I had misspelled hordes if you hadn't pointed it out.

I used the long form because I didn't want to misspell troglodyte.

More from Big Georges
ďThis series is going to be physical," said Georges Laraque from the Canadiens locker room here in the TD Banknorth Garden. "Iíll do everything I can do [to] be a difference.

"Obviously if I could get them off the ice for five minutes, obviously I would."

And of the comments about Thornton?

ďLike I said, he wants to take it personal and stuff, then he can do that," said the Canadien. "Somebody asked me a question about it, and then I answered what I thought about him, and thatís it.

"You can interpret it the way that you want, but at the end of the day, we have to play hockey.

"We have to be disciplined, and itís going to be a physical series," he said.

Talking about his own role in the series, Laraque was clear.

"[I'm] going to do my job the best I can and help the team win," he said.

Asked about Laraque's shadowing of Lucic earlier this year, Larque said, ďitís kind of different in the playoffs.

"Youíre not going to hurt a team by following and shadowing somebody on the ice," continued the Habs enforcer. "When I did that, it was kind of more [to send] a message.

"In the playoffs, you want to hurt a team in the long run, you need to be physical every shift so in the series it takes a toll on themÖ.When you get into a fight, you hurt one guy.

"When you get physical with a whole team, you hurt more than one guy."

In the end, however, Laraque seemed to show his cards.

ďAgain, when I say stuff like thatÖ.players will go after you to show their emotions, to show they donít like that," he said. " Iíd be glad that everybody takes it personal, they go after me, because I think I can take it.

"Iíll take the physicality on me, Iím really not worried about it."

12:50 p.m.
What the heck did Georges Laraque say on Tuesday?
According to Mike Zeisberger of The Toronto Sun, George Laraque decided to let words start a battle earlier this week instead of waiting until the drop of the puck tonight.

Zeisberger, no doubt working off a translation of an interview on CKAC, a French radio station in Quebec, reported that Laraque said of Shawn Thornton, "When we dropped the gloves in Montreal, I fell...I'm out of his league. He's way too small for me."

According to Zeisberger, Laraque added: "Actually, some of his teammates told me he was shaking in his boots before the game. He really didn't want to face me. If he wants to dance in Boston it will be my pleasure to go with him. I'll make sure the crowd quiets down really fast."

Lastly, this nugget: "Of course I'd like to also fight with Milan Lucic and Zdeno Chara but I have to be careful...In the playoffs they'll eject you immediately."

According to Zeisberger, Laraque also had some choice words for his own team AND the Bruins when he said, ""I have never seen a team get roughed-up as badly as the Bruins roughed us up last week...I'm sure that if they play that kind of hockey during the playoffs, guys will get suspended. I understand why they played that way. They didn't want to face us in the first round. They wanted to face the Panthers."

Wow.

The first part seems like comments that BGL just made, Boston media perhaps?

The second part is in the Toronto Sun, although Zeisberger is an idiot. http://www.torontosun.com/sports/col...28106-sun.html

If it's accurate (particularly the 2nd part) it seems like Laraque is trying to goad the Bruins into doing something stupid.

I agree. It would be great if laraque would do that. Maybe whisper in lucic's ear, tell him if he makes one dirty play that he will have no choice to fight laraque

To my knowledge there has bene ZERO response by any of the Bruins...I like that. Don't need any bulletin board material.

Thanks for that. Interesting read.

I like how laraque is finally finding his role on our team. At least he did it at the right time of the season.

Lucic reminds me of myself. I was too big of a ***** to take a beating from the other team's goons but I would drop in a second with a guy in my own category.

Don't worry Lucic, laraque isn't going to give you a chance to accept.

Lucic:

Was BGL a bully in school and still is? I want the habs and bruins series to be good hockey to watch not watch a goon or bully like BGL. What would happen if by chance Thorton or Chara would win the fight would BGL retire? He probably would have to he's got no hockey skills. GO HABS GO!!!!

I feel Laraque has skills, he's just slow. That's his major offensive problem..
IMO anyway..

Sorry, the "wow" was from the Bruins blogger on the site.

Agreed on all counts after as well.

Agreed. I like BGL and he's gotten a pretty bad rap this year. Hopefully he'll contribute and make it a better series...but not too much...

I gotta ask why anyone thinks the Bruins are going to pay ANY attention to Laraque???

Laraque is going to have to play physical and disturb the Bruins that way...meaning he's going to have to bury whatever player is in his way when he gets the chance. Other that, NO ONE on the Bruins is going to fight him...it's just not going to happen.

Also, don't expect the Bruins to try and run the Habs out of the building like they did last week. They're going to play a much, MUCH more disciplined game.
