Bettman just totally embarassed the NHL, roughing penalties are now suspension worthy,

****ING JOKE

Protect the Pens at all cost, scary thing is they don't even try and hide their love affair anymore.

The worst part is that it wasn't even a penalty

Unfortunately it had to be the Flyers who were the first team to feel the wrath of the NHL's 'no sending messages in the dying minutes' policy. It didn't have to be a penalty to earn a suspension in this case.

No one else will receive a suspension of this kind because no other coach will be dumb enough to ice a 'goon' in the final seconds of a game they can't win.

Talbot would've dropped them if Carcillo had any intention of actually being a tough guy.
You mean like your "tough guy" goalie that took a shot at the back of Knuble's head after Gagne scored? Your team is up 4-1 and you punch a guy in the back of the head when he's not even looking? Please explain how one os worse than the other.

What the **** hahaha. I hope the Flyers never change thier game. Carcillo didn't even know he hit him until the puck went the other direction ahahha. what a bunch of tools the Pens are as well as the NHL.

Gratton getting called up would be nice. Id love to see the Flyers pull a big one out tomarrow night.

I dont get why its so stupid why he was out there. Why is it Stevens fault? Why would he put out his star players in the last few seconds of a game they cant win? Crosby and Malkin were on the bench and role players were one the ice for the Pens, the Flyers did the same thing.

If talbot or anyone else drops the gloves off a faceoff and takes a run at Carter, Gagne or Briere everyone on here would be complaining wondering why Carter, Gags or Briere were on the ice down by 3 with like 5 seconds left in the game.

It's stupid because Pittsburgh wasn't going to send someone out there specifically to drop the gloves, especially after Coburn and Guerin had just done so.

There were six seconds left in the game. The Flyers didn't have to put Carter or Richards on the ice, but Carcillo certainly wasn't necessary. The league said no late game shenanigans; sending Carcillo out there for the final faceoff was a dumb move.

Did you read that somewhere, or are you just saying that?

If you read it somewhere, is he gonna play forward then?

Tim P.'s article, Sbisa expected to play (position not specified):

Although no penalty was assessed in the game, Colin Campbell, the league's Lord of Discipline, suspended Carcillo following a telephone conference call hearing.

“Danny, when he took the draw, he came around with his right hand and clipped Talbot in the back of the head,” said Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren before the suspension was levied.

Interesting that the Rangers' Sean Avery didn't get suspended recently for whacking Boston goalie Tim Thomas on the head with his stick. Makes you wonder whether the Flyers, once again, are victimized by their reputation.

That's funny. A couple co-workers and I were just likening this to the Thomas/Avery incident.

Remember the Chelios-Propp incident? Brian O'Neill of the NHL said, in effect, that Chelois couldn't be suspended because he wasn't penalized on ice for the elbow.

More so, because he said the play should have been penalized.

I remember the incident, but not O'Neill's comments. That's hilarious.

Then you might want to leave HfBoards. It's mostly complaining.

Make no mistake, Sbisa will play, but he is NOT replacing Carcillo. Timonen AND Jones missed practice today. Sbisa will be in for one of them.

Someone else will be in for Carcillo.

Why would you bring in Sbisa to play 4th line LW? That is pointless. Bring in Sbisa if Jones is hurt. Otherwise, call up a forward.

I am going by what Tim had in the bottom of his column:

Quote:
Luca Sbisa will replace Carcillo in Game 2.

Jones has clearly not fully recovered from his hip injury. Hopefully they just gave Kimmo the day off. Damn.
