What is with all the failboat references?

Hello Canes fans,

I see so many if not all of you have a failboat animated avatar. What does that reference? Just so you all know I have Brass Bonanza as my cell phone ring so I am not trolling. I always enjoyed rooting for the Whale back in the Dineen/Francis/Turgeon/Luit days when the Devils were Gretzky's Mickey Mouse team .

Thanks...

Tom

We've had a bit of a reverse psychology thing working for us the past few months. After some inconsistent play had the team a good bit out of the playoffs and a few brutal losses (5 - 1 to Ottawa, 6 - 4 to Toronto) the fail references came out in full force and there were many (especially myself) that wanted the team to tank the season. Of course, they went and turned it around after that, so the Failboat has been our adopted theme since that point in the season.

three game losing streak...so I'm going to start an "all aboard the Winboat" tomorrow and then hopefully we'll beat the Devils.

Sorry Dave, but if we're talking about the winboat and you want to reference rowing it starts and ends with this picture:

That crew was just incredible.

That would be considered a win boat with the high probability that something unexpectedly disastrous could suddenly turn it into a fail boat.

The Win Boat is on a 1-game win streak, going for two today.

I hope I didn't start a winning tradition (winboat) for you all since I am a Devils fan..haha. In all seriousness with an infant at home I have to miss the game as I am on duty right now so I am going to get back into hockey next year when hopefully I have time to watch!
