What's truly hilarious, is exactly that, Scarfo. The guy actually believes what he's saying. He sounds like an idiot, it makes no sense. True reflection of the commissioner and the league office right there. The league knowingly employs this guy, he goes on TV representing the NHL and comes off sounding like an absolute moron.
I love them showing the Cammalleri hit and Carcillo... same incident basically, and Campbell's responses to it.
I live in Philly, so it's a shame I don't get to see HNIC/Ron McLean laying the hammer down in interviews much. awesome stuff
this isn't ****ing high school, campbell, this is a PROFESSIONAL hockey league. if you're concerned about players being ****ing bullied on the ice you're better suited to a guidance couseler. ugh. idiot.
I loved how Ron kept calling him out on his ********. Especially the whole Carcillo is a bully thing.
Campbell: Carcillo is bully so he gets suspended but Cammallari isn't so he does not receive a suspension.
Ron: But don't bullies start out like Cammallari?
I don't think Colin understood that comment.
The best was Ron questioning his policy about not putting players like Carcillo on the ice at the end of the game. Colin doesn't want any messages to be sent, but he wants teams to ice players not on the fourth line.... so let's send out the players that have targets on them and the problem goes away. Colin really did not understand this point no matter how Ron put it. The had that same stupid, vacant expression the whole time....
Enough ranting. But the suspensions handed out, not handed out so far have been a joke.
I have to agree with everyone that Colin Campbell is an idiot. I wish I could have a job that paid a few hundred thousand dollars a year and be able to make it up as I go along with no concern for the past or potential future. Colin Campbell has the best job in the world and would be stupid to ever, ever leave it.
The part where he says Cammalleri may have been suspended IF Havlat was hurt made me sick.
Exactly, i'm disappointed MacLean didn't pick up on this. A different guy in a different game could do exactly the same thing and break his jaw. One guy gets suspended, one doesn't. The intent is exactly the same however. Ridiculous ruling.
He's says in the beginning, "Milan is a first time offender".
Wasn't that the reason why Camalleri wasn't suspended?
Exactly. But Lucic is known as an enforcer, therefore this gets him a suspension. Camalleri is a more skill player so he's not suspended. Campbell is such an inconsistent moron it sickens me. I'm disappointed that MacLean didn't ask why Lapierre wasn't suspended for actions in both games this series.
