I hope we drop the "tough" act and get back to playing montreal canadiens Hockey. No more Laraque on the first line, Tanguay back with Koivu and Kovy and Pleks back with the bros. Were a fast and skilled team and we havent played our game yet. Gainey is getting trap in the Bruins game, we've always beat the bruins playing our style and it shouldnt change this year.
So true.

Lang, the guy was already slow like a turtle and almost a liability 5 on 5, 25% slower would be a desaster.. I really doubt he will come back in this serie..
I understand your point about Lang, however comparable to other players his age he is not that slow, also in his youth he was not that slow. I agree that by the nhl avg Lang may be a little on the slow side in terms of skating but I often noticed with Lang and experienced players that their anticipation and positioning compensate for their speed so...speed is not everything.

Besides....Lang at %75 would be excellent on the PP...we really miss him there...that is if we actually get a powerplay tonight...

Gainey is pimp!

"J'ai estimé que la plus importante chose à faire avec les joueurs à ce stade-ci est de travailler sur ce qui se passe entre leurs oreilles."

Interview:
Q: "Can we expect other changes in the lineup? The return of Plek?"
Gainey: "Come watch the pregame warmup".

Lang had as many points (1) in the game he got injured as Plekanec has got in his last 15 games.

I'm a Plekanec fan too, but aside from one small stretch a couple of months ago, he's been pretty bad, production wise for most of the season. He's trying, but its not working.

Lang also had the same amount of points (39) in 30 less games, while posting a +6 in comparison with Plekanec's -9.

I'll miss part of both Bell Center games because of my 2 last russian classes

I hope Laraque doesn't play on the first line again. Could Bob pokerfacing mean Markov is back?

He has great instincts, great feel for the game. He doesn't need blazing speed, he just knows how to keep up and he can slow down the pace when he has the puck.

Lang isnt the answer, could be useful on the PP but even strength his line would be eaten alive..

How do we know koivus-kovy-and tang are back together? I thought Bob wasn't giving anything away.

I'd like to know, do we have any confirmation denials on these questions?

-- Price or Halak?
-- is Plek playing?
-- Markov and Lang?
-- Weber or Dags?
-- Laraque?

He was doing great even strength before he got injured, his size would be more than welcome in the corners.

Lang would be doing a much better job then Pleks.Let's not forget his last game was against the Bruins and the only one that beat Thomas that day!

According to Guy D'Aoust of Radio-Canada, at the end of the pratice, Halak was ''all smiles'' while Price ''looked angry'' (humeur massacrante).

This is speculation but still, I have a feeling that Halak gets the call tonight.

I also believe Halak is getting the start and it's probably the reason Gainey is not saying anything

I just hope Gainey plays the Tanguay-Koivu-Kovalev line the whole game.

If he doesnt, i thougth about this: Put the Kost. bros with captain Koivu and Tanguay-Plekanec-Kovalev. We absolutely need two scroing line.

Btw, when is the last time our 2nd line scored a goal? Even in the regular season. Its been a while eh?

I'm not sure he'd do better than Plekanec. He's still probably 2-3 weeks away from being 95%.

And Plekanec is trying. If you watch him play, he's trying. He's just got to the point where, like Price, gets flustered once one thing doesn't go his way.

Yeah, this is reported on Habs I/O as well by Stubbs. Here is the excerpt from their page;

"Bob Gainey refused to divulge the name of his starting goaltender for tonight's Game 3, though Carey Price being first off the morning skate rink suggested he'd be the guy. Then again, his hasty exit might have suggested his displeasure at a decision that's already been made. "

I can't fathom him starting Price, so I believe Halak is getting the call as well. If Price starts, I'm still going to support him 110%, but to me, it'd make no sense.

The problem, in my view, is he's trying to break out of his slump by himself. He's trying to do it by scoring goals, when we need to him to involve his linemates. Selfish play is what got him in the slump.

I just think he's trying to cut corners, he's trying to avoid contact, or when the puck is in the corner, he's trying to first absorb the hit, then make a play on the puck. If Pleks wants to break his slumps, he's going to have to pay the price and get involved
