Jason Smith's irrelevancy is the point.....

Next season they must sign a big experienced beast on the blueline. Free up the money by trading Jones and Carl and bring up LS for good

What would people think if we took a look at doug murray from the sharks. Big physical presence on the blue line that throws out some mean hits, and knows how to grind players down too. Good contract too.

I'd love to get some size and physicality on the blue line for next year too. Currently, Alberts is the only one we have, which is why I've grown to like Alberts.

Thinking of the need for physicality brought me to think of how Kevin Marshall could be an in house solution for a physical D-man. I've never seen him play but all I hear about him is that he loves to hit people.

That said, I think I'd prefer a cheap veteran over relying on another young guy...but we'll see.

This offseason our first objective should be to handle the goaltending situation, and then to fine tune the defense. I want to see a veteran stay at home guy that hits, and I'm pretty sure thats what everyone wants. I have a feeling they'll try to get one I just hope they don't sign Smith or anyone else who is done, or someone so immobile that they aren't effective

Timonen-Coburn
Carle-Parent
Sbisa-Vet Dman
Alberts

I think thats a great mix of offense and defense from the blue line. As much as people rag on Carle he's a good passer and puck mover, he just needs someone to stay back a cover for him. Hopefully Parent is mature enough to do that by next year.

I miss the late-breaking curve ball down and away. Gotta lay off those!
