Not happening. Just about doesn't matter what's offered.

And, please, don't throw something out that would obviously be accepted because it's so lopsided and ridiculous for the Flyers just to prove the "no one is untouchable" point.

But thanks for jumping on the bandwagon.

lol this wagon has three broken wheels already. if we trade JVR for a goalie id pray it wasnt halak. i would think that Price is right around reasonable given his recent streak. I think JVR and a 1st would get that done actually.

I would do a deal with Price and JVR as the main pieces, maybe even straight up if it works out value wise...which I think it is pretty close.

Carey Price is a Franchise goalie. JVR has not played an NHL game

The day the Habs let Price go, is the day I win the lottery.

He hasn't played like a franchise goalie this season, although he is only 21 and has plenty of time to improve. Anyway, I said a deal based around the two, JVR + 1st for Price isn't out of this world IMO. I highly doubt they would trade away Price though, or Halak...atleast not for another year or two, in which case it will probably be Halak who goes.

JVR is a true elite prospect. You are going to have to give up something significant if you truly want tp get him. Halak isn't even close to enough, he's not even enough to be the center piece of a deal, he's what would have to be added to make it even.

IMO, JVR for Price would be pretty fair but I just don't see it happening. Though Price has struggled mightily at times this year, there is no reason for the Habs to throw in the towel on him yet and deal him. Even if he never becomes a top 10 goalie he should hover somewhere between #10 and #20 and that's more valuable than JVR even if he becomes an all-star forward. JVR COULD become a dominant player like Iginla and Price could flop like Jim Carey but the odds aren't there.

JVR is our top prospect, remember that. If the Habs truly want him then they would have to include their top prospect, McDonagh, in the deal. I believe that JVR for McDonagh and Halak is about right value wise, however I don't see the Flyers dealing their best prospect for a goalie with the question marks still flying around Halak. If we are dealing for a prospect type goalie then ther are better prospects avaliable than Halak. Also, if we ARE dealing JVR for a goalie then I think we are going to try and get a more established #1 before we go the route of an unproven prospect (even someone like Schneider).

I disagree with that completely. That's like saying that Biron (top 20 goalie) is more valuable than Parise, Carter or Marc Savard .... All-star forwards.

Speaking in regards to quality of play, not numbers (numbers can be misleading with goalies) Biron is nowhere near one of the top twenty goalies. Maybe top forty.

You're essentially saying Marty's in the top third of backups.

My recommendation: go look at the numbers. Then come back with more fine analysis.

yeah, to get JVR, you need to send something significant, not scraps. i'd rather add to him and get Price.

I'd give Marty more like a bottom 15 in starters, at least right now.

Like most goalies, the system in front greatly impacts the numbers. ie any Devils or Wild goalies.

The Flyers defense has been shaky, and Biron has his hot and cold streaks.

You never know, he is kinda shaky. Those fans are ruthless. They may give up on him, and live to regret it. Isn't he still 21-22? Goalies that young are just inexperienced more then anything.

I personally wouldn't mind him here. He is better then Biron or Niitty.

Price is the only Hab we'd want.

BTW Someone on the Habs board suggest Price for JVR, Gagne, and Giroux.
