Anyway I don't have any fear in Montreal signing Krejci or Kessel to offer sheets. First Montreal has a hard time signing any free agents to start with and offer sheets are like free agents they have a choice of which ones to accept and not accept, do you think these guys want to play in Montreal?

Chiarelli is smart enough to do what he did with Wideman last year if he canít sign Kessel or Krejci before July 1st and thatís take the players to arbitration. Players going to arbitration are not allowed to sign offer sheets and the team gets an extra 20 something days to sign these players before arbitration even happens. Last year we signed Wideman before arbitration so it was a nice strategy.
I'm not 100% sure of the NHL's rules on arbitration but I don't think Kessel or Krecji are eligible for arbitration. If anyone has any clarification on this I'd love to be educated and proven wrong.

I'd rather try and snag Alexander Radulov then Kessel or Kreicj...

Radulov is gritty and skilled...everything the habs need

He also bailed on his team to go play in Russia mid-season. Yep, exactly the kind of guys we need, he would fit well with the guys in our locker room.

You think after what was witnessed this year, not to mention what these two saw this series on how MTL treats their own.... that they'd want to sign an offer sheet there?
I don't think Bruins fans are concerned, really.

I wouldn't. They are to small and to me Krejci is like last years Plekanec.
Agreed. They are looking really good right now because the entire Bos team is on fire. In a tougher year they aren't players that will carry a team and therefore that kind of money for them is too much imho.

Money talks. Even to your beloved Bruinses. Don't kid yourself they'd go for the money if it were an offer they can't refuse.

Put Kessel or Kreijci in our line up today, and they'll be just as soft A.Kost, Plek, etc..

If not Montreal, then someone should be making an offer. I would definitely be concerned if I was a ruins fan (in the offseason, of course - for now, enjoy the playoffs!). Their cap situation will be tight.

We'd match anything up to 6M. At 6M you can have'm, and we'll take the picks

Did Roy stay for the money and glory?
Do all the big free agents go there for the money or glory?
Do players want to be traded there for the money or glory?
I think they can refuse....

How is the Roy situation even comparable to a potential RFA offer sheet? I'm not following. Other free agents are UFAs who are getting offers from all over the league. This is completely different. Not to be rude or anything but it would help if you understood a topic before commenting on it.

Regardless of cap room, it takes two parties to make a deal/signing to work.
You're right, MTL should have much room available, that begs the question, can they fill it efficiently and effectively.

Not as tight as most believe. Some guys are moving out regardless. We have some kids in Providence who have a good shot on 3rd/4th line roles next season.

What do you care?

Anyways, the question was would those guy accept an offer from here and i think they we have the means to give 1 of them an offer they can't refuse.

But again, we don't want them. They aren't worth it! But, some other team just might be desperate enough so take your picks and run.

well...Kovy was sent home this season and everybody wanted his head..now..it seems like a vast majority of this board wants him back next year...I know Radulov bailed on his team for money...but still I would prefer to try a homerun with him then trying to sign Kessel from the Bruins...I think Kessel would be soft in our lineup... therefore I would prefer try and sign Radulov (with his antecent of leaving for Russia) then Kessel or Kreicj...yknow Valentenko bailed on us this year and a lot of people would like him here..

We could just give the 1st, 2nd, 3rd round picks + Higgins + prospects to Atlanta for a signed Kovalchuk who will end up making the same money as Krejci/Kessel + Higgins + prospects.

I like Kessel.

But I'd take a bunch of early picks for him.

His talent speaks for itself.....BUT....
His effectivenes comes from two things. A player like Lucic creating space on the ice for him and a coach not afraid to give him a kick in the ass every now and then.

Did you think Chara would have left a powerfull Ottawa team for a crappy Boston couple of years ago?

If the Bruins offer say 4 million to Kessel and an offer sheet comes in for him at 6 million you really think he and his agent won't accept it because it's Montreal?
