Habs fan.

I never thought I'd see the day when I would cheer for another team but I never thought Ottawa would get an NHL team in my lifetime. The transition in the 90's was made easier when the Habs weren't much to watch anyway; it was sad to see such a great franchise go down the mediocre route. Their scouting and/or drafting then was just terrible. I wasn't watching as much hockey on CBC anymore. On the other hand, it was fun to watch the Sens build their team later in the 90's, once they moved into the Corel Centre. It was tough going for awhile being a Sens fan at the Civic Centre. In those days, we were all just happy to have an NHL franchise in Ottawa to see NHL games live without having to go to Toronto or Montreal.

I was a Leaf fan, a pretty serious one for a long time but then a few years ago I just stopped feeling the passion for them. Then I moved to Ottawa for school and started liking them.

the Nordiques broke my heart when they moved to Denver and then won the Cup... I gave up on hockey for a little while after that, and started watching the Sens when they first made the playoffs in 96... I became a big fan when they beat Jersey in the playoffs in 98.

It must have been a scary time for you before Melnyk came in. Déjà-vu.

Minnesota North Stars.

Their Cup runs in '81 and '91 were amazing. They had no chance in the finals against the very deep Islanders in '81 and Super Mario in '91 but it was magic for 3 rounds.

I see people are having a tough time admiting that they cheered for the Leafs.

Can't blame ya, if Kelowna ever gets a team, I'll have a tough time admiting that I ever cheered for the Canucks!
