Bansky's stuff is pretty cool for vandalism

When the lot next door was getting excavated months ago, they had up a barrier that had "NO BILLS" on it. Someone stenciled a headshot of Bill Cosby and one of Bill Murray beside the notice. A few weeks later when they painted over all the graffiti along the wall, they left those two pictures alone.

This just goes to show that absolutely no one wants to play in Edmonton.

Grebs says hi. Grebs loves it in Edmonton and is close to re-signing. Stop with this "no one wants to play in Edmonton" garbage already.

Did you miss the PC or something. It was quite obvious who the GM was in that PC. Enough of the "Lowe is still GM" garbage already, DSF.

Lowe definately was part of the decision making this year, but if you believe Brownlee, as of now he has very little to do with hockey operations. The passing of the guard to tambo was evident in the MacT firing presser

Omark scored five assists in his World Championship debut as Sweden beat Austria 7-1. Not his best of games but still the line created chances all the time and Omark was the mastermind.

Interview with Omark today in Expressen (swedish tabloid) after his 5 assist game, where he says that his goal is to make Edmonton regret not believing in him this year and (this is where it gets interesting) that his intention is to make Edmonton want him more next year. The journo makes a point of the fact that there is an out clause. So it seems as though Omark was telling the truth in that he wants to play in the NHL and Edmonton, he just didn't think they had any faith in him, so he is going to show them just how good he is by tearing up the KHL, instead of being buried in the AHL. Interesting tactic if it works...

Delaying Omark for a year is the best possible scenario - we get to give Gagner & Cogliano another year to improve.

It is 2010 when the 2nd wave of Smurfs arrive - Omark & Eberle will help the salary cap situation if they wait another year - as will Nash..

The next wave is young - they can easily wait another year.....

He signed a 2 year contract with Moscow, not 1.

Omark is much better than zetterberg, franzen etc was at the same age. After you've seen him play you always leave with a smile on your face. Like you do with ovechkin.

I talked to Omark in the Czech Republic the other week about his negotiations with Edmonton and he was quite open-hearted with the figures. They offered him 525 000 $ in salary.

Omark does have an out clause after one year, which he keeps mentioning over and over, so it is clearly something he would consider using.

I don't mind waiting a while. I feel like Edmonton rushes prospects. I much prefer the Detroit model of having them develop their game elsewhere, until they are actually ready. You largely avoid the problem of getting icetime to developing players, and having to suffer through too many defensive gaffes.

More and more I think about how the Oilers have screwed themselves over, its tough to be a fan. It's no guarantee that Omark is going to turn into a Zetterburg but he's definately worth bringing over. $550K is pretty insulting when a guy like Nilsson is making $2M and isn't even on the Sweedish WC team.
