Well... I expected a first round exit before the team went up 2-0 and 3-1... then I got my hopes up, despite the fact I knew [logically] I shouldnt.
I WANT this team to win but I never REALLY thought they would. Then they played super well and got all our hopes up. Now Im prepared for disappointment and think this team will fail. I hope they pull it off. Go Rangers, BUT, Im not expecting it. This team sucks.
Well, here we are. It's been an up and down season. There have been a lot of minuses along the way...and yet.....I've enjoyed it. And no matter what happens tonight, this team gave me an enjoyable ride this season and I thank them for that.
Stay positive. That's all we can do. I believe in this team. I've gone through a lot of mood swings since the end of Game 6, but now I'm just putting my faith in this team whether it comes back to bite me or not. I can't help it, it's just in my nature. This team could lose 8-0 and I'd still love them and show my support for them for the rest of my life. Nothing can change that.
I think this season has been rubbish and the future is even bleaker. We have an incredibly flawed team that is badly constructed to say the least and we will ride cap hell for years to come. We have no franchise players except our goaltender, but he can't score any goals or play defense.
We can't play a run & gun game against Washington, because then they will outscore us. We can't play a grind battle against Washington, because then we can try to score in 7 years of regulation time and we would still be scoreless.
It hurts when you realize we are even too bad to play our own game...
Please don't make this another blowout, at least lose this one with dignity. Because if we would pull some miracle out of nowhere and win this game 7, in a series we've had no business in, we will face humiliation in the next round.
Some of our "elite" underachieving guys really need to come up big tonite:
Gomez, Drury, Näslund, Antropov, Zherdev, Morris, Voros (if he´s playing - and he IS NOT ELITE by any means - but if he is then go after one of their "stars" like Geronimo on a rampage on the 1st shift. A bit of sacrificial lamb was your only role here it appears)
Some guys need to step it up a notch:
Avery, Staal, Girardi, Orr, Redden, Korpedo, Sjo, Mara
Some guys need to ride the wave they are presently on - Come chi chi - yeah:
Cally, Dubi, Rozie
One debutante for the NHL playoffs makes his Cinderalla entrance:
Introducing Artem Anisimov with 3 points!
Come on guys, let's stay positive and rally behind the very team which we spent over 250+ hours watching this year.
What happened in the first six games has no relevance in this one, this is a ONE GAME SERIES.
and guess what? WE CAN DO THIS
Lets GO RANGERS
Come on Zherdev, we know you can score!
Come on Captain Clutch, live up to your name
"now remember... when things look bad... and it looks like you're not gonna make it... then it's time to get MEAN... plum MAD DOG MEAN. because if you lose your head, and you give up... then you neither live... nor win... and that's just the way it is."

lay it all on the line tonight, boys. if we had asked before the series began if you could just skip it all and play one game for all the marbles against the higher seed, a better team on paper, i think we would have taken that. one game. anything can happen here. they need to come out and play like their lives literally depended on it. if we can get the lead, turn the crowd, maybe this young caps team wilts a little. to quote tome hanks in saving private ryan, "i'll see you on the beach" let's go rangers!
I was not all that crazy on the Rangers making the playoffs only to get knocked out from a top 2 team. I thought we were still in a rebuilding mode. We need more scorers and that will only come with a top 15 pick.
Saying that, I feel really good about the Rangers knocking off the Caps tonight. When was the last time Hank played three bad games in a row?
