Will All be Forgiven?

If the Canes defeat the Bruins in this round will you forgive them their attrocities of the 05-06 season? Will they have made amends? Paid their debt to the Habs fanbase? Brought themselves out of the pit of loathing they were cast into oh so many years ago?

Will ya, huh?

I dunno. It'll be very eerie cheering for the Canes, I'll tell you that much.

Deciding who to help in this series is going to drive the referees insane.

For some reason I like the Canes. Unless they play the Habs.

I like the Canes, they've been very entertaining to watch.

Man, I'm pumped for every series now.

Wsh vs Pitts..Finally, I don't know how many people have been hoping for this match up in the POs. Hoping for a Wsh win, but I think Pittsburgh's experience will come into play.

Canes vs Boston..On paper, I'd say it's the least interesting one. But considering it's involving our arch rival and the Canes have been very entertaining, I'm looking forward to this one. No surprise I'm picking the Canes

Chicago vs Van..The nucks will probably try to intimidate the Hawks, but as was shown vs the Flames, they never back down.
I want Chicago to win, but I feel it'll be up to Luongo to decide the outcome of this series.

Detroit vs Ana..This is a SC worthy match up. Detroit is obviously favored, but I think a lot of people forget that Beauchemin missed a big part of the season. I'm going with Anaheim. Their top 4 D is simply amazing, Nied, Beauchemin, Pronger, Whitney, on top of a hot goalie. They'll be very tough to beat.

I picked Anaheim to win the Cup btw..just wanted to throw that in there.

Come on now, he didn't "skate around with a high stick"... Williams tried to lift Koivu's stick, missed, and hit him in a freak accident. Yes, it pissed me off at the time, but it's not like Williams went out of his way to injure (or even high stick) Koivu. The biggest injustice on that play was the refs not calling a penalty.

Does he still have "Nickelback" on his mask?
If so, that one reason good enough to hate him!

Knocking out Brodeur is enough for me to forgive them.

It will wash off their sin towards the Habs, but how can you not hate that team? Just look at their stupid jerseys and stupid faces they have.

In order to forgive them, I'd first have to have a grudge against them which isn't the case. They beat us fair and square. I do want them to beat the Bruins though.

Is there anyone both teams can lose and the winner of Pit/Wash can go to the cup?

Edit: ahhh I see there is a way, count me in as voting for the suicide pilot technique.

Hmm...well they got rid of Justin Williams which is a big plus, but they also brought back Erik Cole and allowed Sergei Samsonov to remain in the NHL.

There will be no winner in this series.

never really understood the hatred towards the canes. personally i never disliked them, and even cheered for them against the oilers in 06. if anything, i respect them much more because they've built a successful, small/speedy/skilled type of team. like we were supposed to be, exept we fail at it.

plus, seeing that 4th goal go in on brodeur was almost as good as sex

I know this sounds like taking professional sports too seriously, but I won't forget what Justin Williams did to Saku. I haven't been that angry in a long time, and I swear to God, I really do have a life.

That's the kind of thing that can't be washed away this soon.

I felt the same way at first. It sucks what happened to Koivu but Williams didn't intend to hurt him, so at the time I gave the guy the benefit of the doubt and moved on.

However, I remember listening to game 4 on CJAD and I'm pretty certain he high sticked Markov and Rivet in that game. Neither were called. I think he finally got called for high sticking in game 6 of that series.

After game 3, I gave him the benefit of the doubt, but from the way games 4 and 6 were called on CJAD, I was pissed off at the guy. You accidentally injure someone due to your own actions - you learn from it. You don't keep waving your stick around head height until you decapitate someone.

As for the Canes in general, never liked them for some reason. For me, the Leafs/Bruins will always be the teams I hate most but the Flyers, Canes and Bolts are all there rounding out the bottom 5. From a hockey standpoint, they have a good team with some excellent players but from a fan viewpoint, it doesn't count for anything, I still hate them
