I picked the right 5 minutes of that game to catch.

I thought Brown's hit was clean.

Basically a carbon copy of Brash's hit. Clean or borderline if you think hitting a guy in a vulnerable position makes it so (even if the hit is within the rules). They threw the book at Brash, I don't see them going as severely against Brown for a few reasons:
Hudler came back
the Wings won
the Wings/media probably aren't going to whine about it nearly as much

If the league wants to be consistent, that's 2+ games (given the apparently less severe injury), but it would be the wrong call at the same time. I'm sure they'll find a way to be both inconsistent and still wrong, though.

I loved Brown's hit on Hudler.... very Stevens-esque

but hey, if someone catches you napping, you're gonna get ROCKED!

I still can't believe that was a 5 minute penalty.

Clear shoulder on shoulder...no elbow. Late...maybe...debatable.

Lame.

I was going to bring that up...

Kariya is watching his pass, has his head down and Steven's hits him in the head, and late. Brash, Brown's and Steven's hits are all similar and clean.

Difference is...A bunch of pansy's run the NHL now.

the players that are getting creamed need to remember its the playoffs now, and they might get rocked. Playing 82 clean games may be making these guys more vulnerable come the playoffs, they are being careless. They are not expecting to get hit well because that is just the way of the new NHL. But I have seen Ovi hitting guys a hair late most of the year. The guy is one of a kind. Its tough for most everyone else to get up for regular season games and it seems he cant wait for games to start.

So much for Chicago staying out of the box in Game 2.

Their defense has totally gone to sleep. Hawk after Hawk is just going to the net totally unobstructed.

They really have been on their heels for the past 20 minutes or so. Great job by Chicago. No quit in that young team.

NBC's nightmare, an overtime playoff game. NBC should not be trusted with playoff hockey.

Canes up2-0 heading into the 3rd against Boston. If they hold on, the Caps have to be the first home team to win Game 2 in the second round.

I can't even explain how much I want Carolina to beat the Bruins.

The Canes are playing the Bruins and the refs tonight. It appears that holding calls cannot be made against Boston, because they're doing it non-stop and not getting called. And now the botched goal review.

Power plays 5 to 1 through 5 periods.

It looked like separation between the goal line and the puck to my eyes...did they offer an explanation as to why it was disallowed? However, I stepped away from the tv for a minute and wasn't watching the original call; looked like they may have called it a no goal on the ice and stuck with that, but looked to me like a goal.

Question is, who do the Caps match up better with? I would take my chances with Thomas over Ward, but as long as they beat the crap out of each other, no biggie.
