Pretty much, more the former then the later. I personally prefer Markov over Bouwmeester anyways.

It's going to be a long, long summer with tons of threads from Eklund saying the Habs are interested in player x, y and z yet they sign somewhere else. Everyone knows Gainey keeps things tight so I don't buy any rumors I hear on the Habs from that ass clown.

Don't get me wrong I would love to see Bouwmeester in Montreal but Markov is just as important and if that's the case then why wouldn't we want a 1-2 punch of Markov and Jay Bo.

If Gainey is really trying to get this done I hope he let's Komi walk and trades Hamrlik but like I said I doubt any of this is true

are mods allowed to insult Eklund but we're not? I got an infraction for it before.

All Ek threads should be removed imo, he's obviously not a "source". My cats have a better success rate than he does.

Yes, it's rule #425, next time read the fine print.

It's like the freudian slip I had last week. I meant to ask my wife to pass me the butter, instead what came out was "You stupid cow, you ruined my life".

How the **** is this a "News Report".
Eklund has about as much credibility as Ollie Williams of the Blackie Weather Report.

Tired of all the pressure around the habs: stop reporting what the media are reporting (except when there are true stories (i.e. La Presse)).

That said, I don't see why Montreal would trade Markov at this point. The guy is our best player, resignes as a UFA. This player showed respect to this organization, and didn't float after signing his contract. If you want to attract players, you need to show respect to the ones you currently have on your team.

Markov isn't going anywhere soon. He is the kind of player we need to build around... even if it means no Vincent to Montreal.

Markov > Jay Bo

Vinny Lecavalier : Good but overrated IMO...

I sincerely hope the Habs are not considering this for real.

Let's see one got leaked by the other side, Schneider anyone could have predicted, I don't recall any Lang rumors at all please provide a link then cause I was shocked Gainey got him, I don't recall anything about Rafalski being leaked before hand either.

I'd keep Markov over Jaybo.

I don't want Vinny if it's at the detriment of Markov.

Briere was expected to sign here before Gainey even talked to him.
He was the Quebecois available.

Rafalski we knew about after he signed with Detroit, likewise with Ryan Smyth.

Lecavalier was leaked from their side.

Gainey has no control over the other side. He doesn't leak any information.

As for Eklund, I think if you follow him, pretty much every name on the trade/UFA block is rumored to land on almost every team at some point.

I'd much rather Markov then J-Bo. J-Bo wouldn't sign here anyway.

Eklund mentionned several times during the summer that Montréal would go after Lang if they failed to sign Sundin.

Here is one, dated August 22:

http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog.php?post_id=16541

Habs got him in September.

Not a big fan of Eklund, but I think some of his stuff is legit.

There were rumours of Tanguay to Montréal for awhile before he was traded here last summer too.
