horrible. just stop.
if anyone is getting $6.5mil on our team, it's gonna be Hossa (and it probably won't even be that much.) you're stuck with Briere's awful contract until you find a big sucker to take that on. Ken Holland... not a big sucker.

The only players detroit would want are the players you wont part with.

Giroux, JVR, Carter, Richards, Hartnell, Sbisa, maybe Nodl.

There really isnt anyone else they consider. So if you want Kronwall you will have to make a package of the above and picks. We have no interest in anything else.... Might consider Gange in the right deal.

no way hossa signs for less than 6.5. why would he take more than a million dollar discount?

Reports suggest hes looking for around 6.3 over 10 years from detroit. He has said several times he would take a zetterberg contract.

that would be a heck of a deal, but i wouldn't be surprised if detroit got that. they have a penchant for discounts and keeping players into their 40s

his market value is however much higher than 6.3 mil.

Whats his deal btw... Is HF report makes him look really good but i know Flyers fans have been down on him as not much than a grinder? Can the kid score?

He seems like a similar player to Justin Abdlekader (who i think is one of detroits best prospects, though underrated by HF)

LOL! Ya never understood what HF had against ericsson.

Nodl seems very comparable to Abs. Kid just needs 2 seasons in the AHL and he will probably be a decent forward. He strikes me as a kinda player who would benefit from the detroit seasoning process.

This give detroit some scoring depth after possibly losing Hossa. They can also pair carle with a stay at home veteran defenseman.

Philly gets a good hitter and and solid defenseman, since they already have so many puck movers.
Flyers say no

You're right, the original offer is laughable from the Wings side. However, for the people saying they wouldn't trade Kronwall for JVR straight up, they are carzy. THEY may not do it but their GM would make certain to get it signed quickly before Holmgren woke up from his night of binge drinking.

Right now, Kronwall is a more valuable NHL player. However, in 2-3 years you'd be kicking yourself for NOT taking this deal if it were offered to you. Kaberle >>> Kronwall and Leafs fans scoffed at Carter for Kabs just last year, they wanted the Flyers 1st too. Ask them now if they'd take the trade straight up.

Nodl is stll a work in progress. He certainly has some offensive ability but he struggled when he was called up early in this year. He showed bad judgement in his own zone and was demoted because of it (he'd stay out for extra long shifts and be ineffective, he turned the puck over, he made blind passes that got picked off, he got knocked off the puck).

Nodl is not suited for 3rd line ginding duty. He's going to be a 2nd line winger or nothing at all (unless he seriously changes his game and becmes a defensive stallworth). Right now there is no room for him on the Flyers top 6 (or "top 9" if we go with 3 scoring lines and no traditional 3rd line checking line). Right now he has, Gagne, Knuble (UFA), Hartnell, Lupul and Briere ahead of him. Carcillo is probably ahead of him too at this point and JVR will immediately jump ahead of him as soon as he solidifies a permanent roster spot with the Flyers. The flyers would need to move another winger or 2 just to make a realistic roster spot for Nodl at this point.

Detroit would be stupid to trade Kronwall. Lupul + Carle isn't going to cut it. I agree that it would likely take much more than that for the Wings to consider this trade.

Detroit will probably lose Hossa but Kronwall was a 50-point defenseman this season. Carle has the potential to be there but why risk it if you're Detroit? Lupul doesn't fit in well with Detroit's finesse, puck control system. He's got decent hands but he's more of a garbage goal guy and Detroit already has enough of those.
I'd much rather see Detroit tap into the system and go with Ville Leino or maybe even Justin Abdelkader (one more year in the AHL is probably better for him though) rather than take a shot with these two and put themselves in a tight cap position. Then in two to three years, hopefully someone like Cory Emmerton, Dick Axelsson, maybe even a later round pick like Jan Mursak or Gustav Nyquist will be ready to step into that type of role. With Datsyuk, Zetterberg, and Franzen locked up for so long there's no rush to replace the potential loss of Hossa.

garbage goal guy? why even bother making a post when you absolutely have no knowledge of the player?
