HF's Interview w/Brent Krahn

Instead of having one thread stickied at the top of the page, I've decided to post each article/interview on its own as they are posted.

Hopefully this allows for more discussion, as the last thread really didn't cater to that sort of idea.

So, without further ado, here's HF's most recent Flames article.

Title: Brent Krahn looks for a team to lead
Writer: Aaron Vickers
Description: Calgary Flames goaltender Brent Krahn is ready to settle in and lead a team to a championship, and maybe even paint his mask.

It's our feature article at the moment.

Or...

Simply put, press credentials, and a little bit of nosing around.

Guy Flaming, the writer for the Edmonton Oilers on HF is a good friend of mine. When the Oilers and Flames had their rookie game in Edmonton, he got me credentials through the Oilers for me. I drove up to Edmonton, enjoyed the game, then nosed around after the game looking for a few interviews.

It was sort of the same situation with Dustin Boyd. He was in Calgary for the Canadian Junior Camp, and I talked to him then, but hadn't planned on interviewing him. I set up a contact with him, and interviewed him over the phone.

Basically it's all about going after the player. Over the course of this season I'll be making attempts to interview several players, interviews that are likely done over the phone.

The great thing about being in Calgary is the Hitmen. I'll be nosing around the Saddledome all winter, if all goes well, and given how many prospects play in the CHL for the Calgary Flames, I'll be able to get interviews that way.

Basically it's all about going after players!

Good article, but I find it kinda hard to believe we're still ranked 19th overall in terms of quality prospects in our system. We have solid defensive prospects, a plethora of goaltending prospects, and now good forward prospects in our system as well.

We should be in the top-15 (at least) IMHO. I don't know, what do you guys think?

yeah I agree.

I think alot of the other writers really go all homer on htere clubs picks b/c you will have some guys really ranked high for no real reason.

I think we have some real good prospects in our system that are on the verge on makeing the team.
